Our first signing last season was Xavier Simons on a permanent deal, that was July 1st. If Giles is signing, that’s when he’ll arrive.
A few U21 team signings aside, our first proper permanent first team signing last season was Jason Lokilo on July 18th.
Liam Delap joined 2nd July, then Vingare on the 20th on loan deals.
Aaron Connolly was the next permanent signing on 2nd August.
Last Summer was punctuated by loan signings across the window, with Allsopp and Philogene arriving on deadline day.
It’s currently the 25th of June. This isn’t a “slow” window for us, it’s actually about the same as always.
Some clubs sign players early on, some wait. The benefit of signing players early is getting them into your pre season. However, if you blow your transfer funds early doors, it leaves little room for manoeuvre if the season starts and you realise you need to make a change like we did with Ingram/Allsop.
Leave it late and okay you might have pre season with a thinner squad, but you get a lot more variety in terms of choice, which means we can be more specific and precise with our transfers. We have targets and we’re in talks, but we don’t know who might become available because of other transfers later on.
Coventry are signing a few (but they have money from selling Gykores and Hamer), Boro have a couple in, so do Oxford, Rotherham have already signed like five. Others, like us, haven’t signed anybody.
What matters is the quality, not how many or how quickly. There’s no need to overreact or associate a lack of front of house activity with negativity. We’ve had some potential signings written off before they’ve landed at Hymers.
And let’s face it, even we had signed every player we needed and were good to go July 1st having spent £20m, there would still be people disappointed we didn’t get anybody in on transfer deadline day and Burnsey would still think we needed another striker.

Nor does it take a genius to see that poster seldom mentions Norwich first. Hey ho.Nope, but it doesn't take a genius to work out which poster is primarily known for banging on about Norwich at the earliest opportunity.

That’s why we never used to drink it after being a baby!
Babies can tolerate it, not all adults can (and all adults used to not be able to)

I don't think Acun will be involved City transfers as he used to be, there are other priorities.
