The first window was naive and the championship was underestimated so certainly some teething issues and we've had to suffer after effects of that but I feel optimistic that lessons have been learned and look forward to seeing the new side take shape.
To be honest, I found it hard to believe that we will not end up with Fenerbahce reserves again. I mean they arrived when Acun was just a fan, now he is part of board, why not this year?
Tufan and Pelkas were both good players, Ally the only mistake but he came with potential so can kind of see why. All in all don't think there's anything to see here.
I think it’s safe to say we’ll see a couple of Turkish/Super Lig based players come here this Summer.
To cheer yourselves up have a read of a superb transfer for TWS Jean-Kevin Augustin to TWS in 2020 Joined on loan with an obligation to buy for £18 million from RB Leipzig Played just 48 minutes TWS tried to cancel the transfer and so he didn’t join permanently But Leipzig took them to court and they were forced to pay them £15.5 million TWS were then ALSO ordered to pay Augustin £24.5 million to cover his £80k-a-week five-year contract Overall, he cost £40 million for 48 minutes of football… that’s £833k per minute
Looking for one and signing one are often weeks apart , we knew we anted him but maybe he hesitated no one has a clue. He signed when ready plus work permits are involved , you don’t announce it until done , otherwise there would be yet another raft of negative crap about it . I can’t see him or Acun and Tan being inactive or complacent .
A new keeper signed from a club the owner has ties to, when the manager didn't want a keeper, and who apparently can't play with his feet as the manager wants his keepers to do, and which was then used by the ownership as a stick to beat the manager with when he wasn't used. And now the owner expects him to be our number 1 under a new manager who is famously even more obsessed with having his goalkeepers play on the ball. It's a mess.
