I just think Omur needs to play central. In Turkey he averaged a goal or assist once every 3 games (approx), playing in a central role - usually in a midfield 5 with one DM in front of the back 4.

For some bizarre reason we have played him out wide right, which doesn’t play to his strengths. He got an assist every 5.5 games last season, both from central areas (cross to Greaves against Huddersfield (central/left), pass to Tufan against QPR (simple pass from central to Tufan to score his worldie).

He had never scored or assisted us from the right in 21 appearances - yet this is where we play him. Make it make sense.

 

In fairness with the 21 wide players we have brought in, I don’t expect him to start there again. Thinks it’s him and Mehlem for a straight fight out for the central role.

 

So he's not good enough for this level?

 

Just a reminder on Omur, we've scored 3 goals this season including the league cup and he has one of the assists.

 

My bad - took the ball on the right in his own half, drifted inside centrally before playing a long ball to Mehlem, which the CB misjudged.

We dont know Alzates fitness levels (plus the fact he hasn't officially signed yet) but assuming Zambrano doesn't get banned in the next few weeks, Im struggling to work out our starting 11 (assuming we are playing a 4-3-3).

 

Yep I appreciate that. But then if we do sign a free agent striker, won’t that mean we can’t get one in January because our squad will be full (unless we sell someone or cancel a loan, eg Burns)?

 

I believe you register a squad again after January. You’d think there’d be some outgoings to allow room or worst case, don’t name Sinik

 

So he's not up to the physicality of the league?

 

That's a decent 11 tbf. Looks much better on paper than in my head.

 

I can easily see a gk going out on loan, Smith and Jarvis maybe out on loan, burns being cancelled so recon there's room to play with - just maybe not money.

Does anyone have a list of few agent ST's?

 

You mean one of Pandur or Racioppi? Potentially (Cartwright and TLT we haven’t named in the squad already).

You don't fancy Puerta or Palmer then? And, could be wrong, I thought Kamara was in the U21's?

 

What I’m saying is it’s a strong bench and Slater may struggle to get on it when everyone is fit.

 

Because of his age not ability.
