He has done, but that's not his strength. The main striker is primarily there to score goals. He makes the runs (although admittedly get's offside too often ... as I commented during the last game, as many strikers do). The service to him has been poor so far. Simple as.
Good post NJ.....There are some on here who looked to stir the $hit. Though that said it is a forum were opinions are shared. Footballers, like human beings in general, come in all kinds of shapes and sizes...some like to kiss the badge, for others it's a way to make a living. Just because they don't high five every colleague it doesn't mean to say they want out.
Speaking of shots on target, that's another theme that's continued from last season. We always seem to have a large number of shots but a shockingly low proportion of them on target. Something I've really got fed up of seeing over the last year or so is speculative shots from around the edge of the area going miles off target. We do it way too often. It completely kills an attack and allows the opposition (who lets face it, are usually winning) to reset and waste a bit more time. If we can't get it close to on target we shouldn't be shooting.
In the modern game it's not just his role to just score goals though especially as a sole striker. He's having to initiate the press, act as a hold up man when we are under pressure among other factors. I've said it in here before but playing him as a sole striker right now is like England playing Kane at the Euros. Its playing 10v11 at points he's offering nothing if he doesn't score
And maybe he’s adjusting to the English game again who knows? But he certainly doesn’t deserve the **** he gets on here You’d think it was some fat **** out of Parker’s the way silly ****s are describing his ability in here
These are the copies or our shot maps in fairness. If we got in these positions and didn't pull the trigger we'd be as frustrated as we were last year
