I don’t understand all this ffp etc, 35 million is cheap for the pair. So far it appears Ipswich are the only ones that have made an offer, are they rated at more than 35 million outside of Hull?
The problem is we have a massive rebuild on our hands, we can hold out for more, and risk not getting more. In the meantimes we lose out on targets and don’t have enough money to fund the rebuild. If 35 is the only offer, our need for players might mean we have to accept it.

Im sure the money is available Geo and that we can get deals done. The FFP doesnt come into it immediately I didn't think as we are in a new year.???... I'd hope we could hold out..

£17.5m each for two Championship players, plus add ons is objectively pretty good, considering one cost nothing and the other more than three times less than that.

You could build a promotion squad for £35m no problem.

But acun can only put £14 million in can’t he ?

We are allowed £39m losses over a 3 year period. Meaning any owner can in theory invest £13m per year more than their income.

We stand to gain about £30-31m headroom from Greaves and Jaden in terms of FFP headroom on top of the the losses. Assuming we haven't already eaten into that

Plus money from Tufan and Allsop going.

What I was getting at I suppose was, that he could put say £20 million now if he wanted to in the knowledge that the assets are going to be more than that and then take it back out when those funds arrived... or maybe im being naive...

Can’t imagine anything going wrong with a keeper in that position in the Championship…

Entertaining though

Does sound very risky doesn't it. We'll have to get used to accepting that risk. Think many around me in the north stand will struggle with that, just as they did with Rosenior's risky play at the back.

I was reading today that Villa have a £15m buy back option clause on Philogene - Idle gossip or genuine?

It's true, but only after we get promoted. Strange clause, but that's how it's been explained by our vice chairman.

Seen a lot of people expecting unrealistic prices for the pair.

£20m + add-ons is fair for Greaves and about £17/18m + add-ons is fair for Philogene.

That £35m + add ons really wasn't far away, there's also the realistic chance of getting a sell on in the next 1-2 years which you don't get if they go to a big club, ie Robbo.

I dont understand the logic of we need to sell fast to fund a squad rebuild. There's money available now, at the very least enough to get started until we get what we think are the best deals possible for outgoings.

You spend a boat load during the window hanging on to Greaves and Jaden then you weaken your negotiating leverage as any team can come in and say "well you dont accept X then we know you're ****ed"

Either that or we are in a bit of a pickle with cash
