Based on what? Apart from Rotherham he barely offered anything off the bench until later in the season. Came on against Stoke for instance and did nothing.

Sometimes it's better to take a young player out of the firing line and get them right.

How is it not a shot at LR when you said he was criminal with his use of Ohio and unforgiveable?

Based on the fact he contributed. Sharp didn't.

Reactions: Gone For A Walk
I have always liked Longman, particularly his versatility in playing different positions for us. I agree he may not be a started for us, but he's a useful player off the bench and certainly better than Lokilo or probably Sinik (difficult to know with Sinik as we have seen very little of him)

That's as well may be but anything close to a million for him and that's a steal.

Sorting out the striker situation early will be a huge relief as it’s the priority. If we get Ohio in then hopefully another (if the rumours about Žan Celar are true, Slovenia losing tonight might speed this along) then we can maybe wait a bit later in the window for a third striker on loan.

Id like that hamburg midfielder
I cant remember his name though

Might be slovakian

That was enough to show he wasn't up to it until Rosenior got to work on him and he looked a different player. Rosenior should be praised for what he transformed Ohio into, not castigated.

I do agree there was a period needed to get him up to speed fitness-wise and in terms of how we play but I'm also hopeful that we see more from him, Rosie seemed to have our players playing ball to feet the vast majority of the time whereas what Ive watched from Hamburg under Walter they weren't afraid to attack and hit spaces and this should suit someone like Ohio.

There were plenty of games last season where Ohio should have been brought on ahead of Sharp, in fact, it was all the games that Sharp came on in. <laugh>

Worth remembering when analysing these FFP rules that UEFA, the PL and EFL each have separate rulesets. So the info posted with details of how a loan with obligation to buy works in UEFA's rules doesn't necessarily reflect how it works on the EFL's rules.

I didn’t know this. I thought FFP rules were standardised / imposed by uefa

Quite possibly but I think there's something to be said for letting a player get their head down and focus on training and tactics and coming on for 10-15 minutes here or there is just a distraction. His form to end the season I think vindicated Rosenior's decision.

I've not found anything to say the EFL have different rules around loans with obligation to buy, but these things are not easy to look up, so who knows for sure.
