Zajc will be Acun’s next big signing that he rants and raves about. How he worked hard to personally convince him to come. He’s worse than the player we’ve just sold for £1.7 million. He’d also be on decent wages as would Norwood.

And so the cycle continues. Aging players on high wages and then the owner and his stooges and sycophants will cry foul about FFP.

While I’m in a football mood, there are a few free agents from the Premier League and other top flights becoming available on July 1st. These caught my eye as good signings for a team looking for promotion:

Premier League

Jairo Wiedewald
Steven Alzate
Samman Ghoddos
Dele Alli (I know, but he’s still good)
Adam Lewis
Brandon Williams
Jeff Hendrick
Scott McKenna
Marek Rodak
Japhet Tanganga
Ryan Sessegnon
Louie Moulden

Bundesliga

Robert Skov
Takuma Asano
Marius Wolf
John Brooks
Benno Schmidt

La Liga

Mariano Diaz
Alberto Moreno
Munir El Haddadi
Unai Lopez

Ligue 1

Yusuf Yaziki (who I suspect Acun will go straight after and if he can’t get him for us he will for Fener).
Ivan Cavaleiro
Kevin N’Doram
Layvin Kurzawa

Serie A

M’Baye Niang
Caleb Ekuban
Davy Klaasen
Jaime Baez
Stefano Sensi
Ricardo Rodriguez

Eredivise

Hidde ter Avest
Andre Ramalho
Mathew Ryan
Inigo Cordoba
Mitchell Dijks

I reckon if we’ve done our due diligence there’s a squad that can be assembled for a promotion push without breaking the bank.

Yusuf Yazici is a Trabzon-born player, won high-school world champ with his high school in Trabzon, came from youth ranks of Trabzonspor and was captain of Trabzonspor.

Basically, if he transfers to Fenerbahce which is arch rival of them, his family won't have a good time there. That transfer is close to impossible, probably he hates Fenerbahce more than he likes Acun.

On the other hand, he will never transfer to a Championship team.

Yep, numbers wise we just about need all those listed. Job done. Good work. ps so long as at least one of them is a striker though

I understand that perspective and motivation if it's a player we're actively looking to shift, like Ally or Sinik, but Tufan was a big contributor. If he wants to go and Trabs want him they should have to meet our valuation, we shouldn't be offering him at a cut price.
How do you know we didn't value him at that? What our (fans) valuation of a player and the owners look like being very different.

Sessegnon all day long, would fit perfectly into the style being talked about with Our new head honcho

While I agree with the sentiment, players go where the money is. People used to say “oh he won’t sign for them, they’re rivals” and yet we’ve had a fair few who have gone from Liverpool to Everton, Man U to Man City etc.

And the chance to play in the Championship is seen as a gateway to the PL. I didn’t think we’d get somebody like Abdush (or Carvalho or Tufan, to be frank), but he was obviously convinced and he shone last season. I see no reason why Yaziki wouldn’t consider it, but he won’t be short of offers anyway, at least one PL team will want him and on a free he’s a great bit of business.

People always fall back on this :"It's his club" or similar. It's actually the club's money. It's the clubs players and if Acun sells the club it's our financial position that we will be judged against for FFP/PSR purposes. It's in our interests to get the best deals possible, not to help Acun's mates.

Ozan went to trazbonspor for much closer to his estimated current value (according to transfermarkt) than the fee for which Omur came the other way.

I rated Stephen Quinn and Sam Clucas when they were here. Doesn’t mean I’d have them back now.

Quinn is 38 and playing for Mansfield, obviously not. We are short in nearly every area, so the opportunity to pick up an experienced player like Norwood on a free transfer, even if it’s just for a season is decent if the finances are right.

Zajc is better than any box to box midfielder we have, in my opinion. He didn’t get much game time last season, but like the fella from Turkey said, that was more to do with him falling out with the ownership than him being unfit.

I don't think you are aware of Fenerbahce - Trabzonspor rivalry.

I am, but I’m saying that it’s not unheard of over here, or anywhere else in the world.

It could well be that he is a Trabzonspor fan and doesn’t do it on principle, but footballers tend to lack principles when confronted with a big bag of cash.
