Where has this come from and why is it being stated as fact by everyone? Even if he did want out, there's about 6 weeks in the window to go. Are we to assume because we haven't sold Greaves and Jaden that they don't want out, or are we working to find the best possible sale for them? Why could we not do the same with Tufan?

He did if we were going to trigger it.

But if that was the plan we'd surely have made a counter offer to extend his stay on matched or improved terms?

Hull Live understands, but Tufan expressed his desire to move back to Turkey and sign a deal with the former Super Lig champions, who finished third in the table last term behind champions Galatasaray and his former club, Fenerbahce.

Having a desire to return to Turkey is not the same thing as handing in a transfer request. And even if he had, I'm sure Greaves and Jaden have expressed a desire to move to the PL but that doesn't mean we've sold them for 2m each to the first club to enquire.

As said earlier, Tufan is a big boy, he knows how these things work, if he wants to move to Trab and we want to accomodate, there's a third party that has to help make the deal happen - Trab. They need to offer a fair value for him to get the deal done. It seems we've sold him on the cheap, perhaps to help with the Omur deal, perhaps because of Acun's chummy relationships with other Turkish owners, but that doesn't make the fee a reasonable one objectively speaking.

If people think it's reasonable, I'd be interested in seeing how much they think we'd have to pay to get Swift or Wallace from WBA, Fraser from Soton or Fassnacht from Norwich. Do we think those clubs would let them go for under 2m pounds?

As I have said, Acun has always pointed out if a player has a desire to leave, then he will not stand in his way. That is different to Greaves and Jaden at present, yes they, like all players have a wish to play in the EPL, but as yet, as far as we know, they haven't expressed a desire to leave, which Tufan has done.

Even when KLP expressed a desire to leave we still got a very good fee for him John, that's my point. Not standing in the way of a player leaving is not the same thing as having our pants down for the fee in June.

There seems to be a difference of opinion as to whether 1.7m for a player in his prime who just scored 10 goals in a season is fair value and that's fine I guess. Which is why I brought up comparable midfielders of a similar age to highlight the point.

At the end of the day it is Acun money, he feels it's an acceptable price. KLP is a completely different scenario, he is a young player at the beginning of his career with potential.

Look, I would have preferred to keep Tufan, but he wanted to go back home only, which limits your sales area, the market there is not as strong as others. I suspect it might have been family pressure, as Liam commented during last season he had some personal issues going on.

We got Omur for more or less a similar price as Tufan and he is a better player and a younger age, so 2m Euro is not out of the way IMO.

The fee is a bit low. But like others have said, Tufan was probably one of the top earners, so it will help balance the books - which might not even be an issue soon if we get a big fee from Greaves.

We also don’t know who Tim Walter has lined up already to come in. He starts on the 1st July but will no doubt bring in a few in the first few weeks. We absolutely shouldn’t panic.

As for the ‘massive rebuild’, I don’t think it’s as bad as people think. Our core players are much higher quality than a few seasons ago. I would want a fair few of them starting, despite who comes in.

I am more excited for a season than ever this time around. We have an attacking manager coming in, an owner who clearly cares about us and has done a hell of a lot right (who we should be extremely thankful for) and attendance figures back to how they should be. My belief has not altered in the slightest, this is going to be a better season than last! UTT.

As it stands it’s a big loss, I’ve not seen anywhere that ozan asked to leave. Even the quote John refers to could be that the club said we are selling you and ozan saud “I’d prefer to go back to turkey”. That’s his desire but not his want.
We’ll struggle to find a player of his ability and goals for the fee quoted.
However it’s only June and we have no idea who the club are looking at….weirdly it’s quiet

People always fall back on this :"It's his club" or similar. It's actually the club's money. It's the clubs players and if Acun sells the club it's our financial position that we will be judged against for FFP/PSR purposes. It's in our interests to get the best deals possible, not to help Acun's mates.

Just like it was the Allams club when they wanted to change our name? Come on John, you're better than that.

When Ehab was 'asset stripping' by selling all our good players were people just shrugging saying "well it's his club"?

Agree with a lot of that DD.

But (!) ..... re. this bit ..... "As for the ‘massive rebuild’, I don’t think it’s as bad as people think. Our core players are much higher quality than a few seasons ago. I would want a fair few of them starting, despite who comes in".

I'm curious. List those that you are meaning please. Maybe you can reassure me a bit? I don't think so though. The rebuild is gigantic, and bar Omur, I just don't see quality and what we've got left to get excited about! That's one hell of a state of affairs at this stage in Acun's ownership. I'm of course assuming Greaves is going (almost certainly) and excluding Philogene who I wouldn't be surprised to see go.

I think you are missing my point. Acun and the club clearly felt that 2m euro was an acceptable figure, and it is their decision to make that call, as they run the club.

As I mentioned, this figure is not dissimilar to what we paid for Omur, who is better IMO and younger. Because Tufan wanted to go to his home country, then this was probably the going price in that market, so why I said IMO was a fair price.

To compare that to what the Allams tried to do with the name change is a completely different situation.

I didn't compare in the sense I don't think Tufan's sale is 'asset stripping' my comparison was people feeling compelled to criticise one owners decisions and then say another can do whatever he wants.

We are both giving views which are valid, and that is what debate is all about, having difference of opinion and discussing them. Sadly, there days the art of debate is disappearing, many just shout down things they don't agree with.

So nice to have a debate which both have merits.

Of course, we don't know the full story, for example maybe we will find that we get a player from the club he has gone too at a good price. I guess TWT.
