Is not an illogical step for Gakpo, The moment is a bit strange.

whatever that means

Probably that his current club aren’t in the champions league. And or it is a World Cup year. So moving to a PL side that isn’t in Europe and isn’t realistically going to be next year is still not illogical

Athletic reporting on Ori to Girona now. Three year deal is agreed but clubs are apart on terms. No certainty that it happens this window. Apparently they would sell him or let Diallo leave on loan but not both.

I've been looking at the signs. We'll buy 0-11 players, none or some on permanents and possibly some (or none) on loan.

There will be outgoings. Possibly none, though.

Anything else is baseless speculation and should be ignored.

You read it here first.
Thanks for the clear and concise post, I've ignored all previous transfer speculation.

Even letting one of Romeu or Diallo leave we’d need a replacement I’d think.
Garner, surely. Could fill in as a six but would be extremely suited to Romeu’s “more attacking role” that Ralph mentioned for this year. I think that’s why it’s a case of sell one or loan out the other. They want to make a space. JWP-Lavia-Garner is such a tasty midfield. Alternatively, we’ve also been linked to Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

We buy before we sell . The new Southampton way. So Lavia is the replacement.

We were already short in CM imo. Having three players for two positions isn’t enough. We’re lucky that JWP is indestructible but it would be placing an unnecessary reliance on young Lavia to take on a full season of PL football at such a young age.

I couldn't believe that Maitland-Niles was 25 yesterday. I thought he was about 20!

I know where you’re coming from and for that reason l was surprised we let Smallbone go out on loan. But they must have confidence in those 3 covering the two roles. Of course, we know that Stuey and Aribo can play there too. And of course , we don’t want to stifle the conveyer belt of talent from the B team
