Roy Shiner played one season 1959/60 as you say. Oldham game was April or thereabout,1958 because the start of the next season I started to go and watch them.
Roy Shiner sat next to me on a bus from town and he got off outside Stan Lemans on Anlaby Rd and went in for a hair cut.
That brings up further memories for me John. My maternal grandparents lived on Spring Gardens in Anlaby Common, and granddad used to take me to City when I was 9-15 years old (North stand immediately behind the goal). Stan Leeman's was his barber too, and he used to take me there for my trim about once every couple of months. Apparently it's still a going concern - hopefully not impacted by the current covid-19 stuff. Used to hate getting my haircut, and once the Beatles appeared on the scene I refused to go with him ! My ma wasn't too happy about that. Neither was school come to think about it .
