Phil Buckingham in the Hull Daily Fail suggests that McCann still has money to spend. I might suggest that he spends some of it on a coaching/tactics manual.

The one fly in the ointment regards spending, is he doesn't known who'll be at city come deadline date, what money he does have, he could spend it on bringing a midfield player in, only to lose a defender. and the last thing we needed is to frig about playing player out of position, had enough of that last season. as you say, personally what money we do have left to spend, would have be put to better used paying McCann off.

The only saving grace in that situation is the loan market for us is open a week or 2 after the window shuts, so worse case we could bring someone in on loan if we lose someone last min

True, but a lot of clubs would be reluctant to let some of there promising young players come anywhere near McCann and City on loan, after last season .

Strange letting Mannion go IF this is true?

I don’t think they rated Mannion very highly. He was at the club a while and he didn’t make much in the way of progress. Reminds me of Mark Oxley. I always thought he looked pretty decent for his age.

He wasn't even close to pushing for the first team, hence why he went. Look at where he had ended up.

But we had the Green Sports mail.
Memories of queueing outside the newsagent's between 6:00-6:15 waiting for the delivery van to drop a bundle of 'em off on a Saturday night. Happy days.:emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0148-yes:

Never forget a front page headline in the late 50's :

"This Roy's a real Shiner !"

We'd just signed him from Sheffield Wednesday a couple of days or so earlier and he scored 2 goals in
his debut match @ B.P.

Yes, seems to have a good engine on him.

He also said how surprised he was that he'd agreed to come back to L1 so early in the window when he had championship interest from 3 clubs and that if we don't go back up this season he doesn't expect him to still be with us next season
