Yes, why what have I missed
Lichaj was happy to sign an extension with a clause voiding the contract if we went down. They would not have been obligated to pay Lichaj in the event of relegation.

They wanted him to accept a 50% cut to sign a 1-year extension which reneges on the terms THEY put in his contract in their favour.

£17k to £20k a week for a bang average player it makes your eyes water. Plus he would have received a nice signing on fee. Good work Darnborough.
I am glad I am not paying his monthly salary. He will be lucky to get half of that next season.

Who are you talking about? Stewart?

Yes but it was only an option, they’ve obviously decided they don’t think he’s worth his current salary. As we all know they’ll be looking for a younger, cheaper player with a sell on fee.

I think you are an Allam apologist, in my eyes they are quite simply indefensible.
So we should give a bang average player a contract because we put the option in 2 years ago or whenever it was. I’d rather give his wage to keep stewart. At least he’s carried on playing to help the club stay up.
I think most would agree I’m far from an Allam apologist

I haven't been to a live City match since Bruce left. I'm boycotting, you see, because I despise the Allams, although i remain an avid City fan. When they leave or die, I shall return. For a "far from an Allam apologist" you sure make a lot of excuses for them.

Tell me them....

They will be looking for that.

my opinion is that it’s a shame they didn’t agree to his offer of another year which could be cancelled FOC if we went down.
If we stayed up he’d have had a reasonable contract, but hey...we’d have stayed up so suck it up, it would have only been for a year.
If we’d have gone down then no loss

Would he have stayed on the same salary he’d currently on had we stayed up
