You must be joking. Surman will be far more use to us next season than Snodgrass will if we are going to keep the ball on the floor. I want Surman in our squad next year and would be as livid if we accepted £1.25m for him as I will be overjoyed to see Snodgrass go for £6m or £8m.

News Headline - At a time when the active trend in the game is to play 1 or even no out and out striker NCFC, egged on by their fans, will play a 2-2-6 formation next season.

I'd take £8m for snodgrass every day of the week and twice on sunday.

Lets not forget he was quite poor at the beginning of the season, insisted on taking the penalty against villa and missed it. Confronted some fans in a game. Has one year of his contract left.

We've absolutely robbed them if the fees being reported are true

I think he is a lower premier league player anyway.

Not as good as people make out though.

This is beginning to sound like the usual 'our player has left but we won't miss him' line so often seen. We will miss Snods greatly, but £7m with add-ons rising to £8m is just too good to pass up in our situation. It's good business for us and he'll do a good job for Hull as well. IMO, they are paying over the odds, but they have a rich owner who can afford to do that (again, given what they paid for Livermore). Personally, I'll miss him greatly, but I wish him well at Hull if he does go.

You're not the only one, RER. But bear in mind the abject start he had to last season - it was circa 40% gone before he showed any real form. I know he had a bairn and his g/f was involved in a car accident, but 40 (ish) percent, ffs?
That's what jarred me off about the POTS award, when Olsson worked his gonads off tirelessly for the entire campaign.

Personally I really rate Snodgrass and think that he is definitely one of our best players and would make an excellent captain for next season all other things being equal. with his skill and dead ball ability he would get a lot of goals and assists at Champ level which we would need to find elsewhere were he to leave.

However if he is not signing a new contract and we either get £7m + add-ons today and re-invest wisely or nothing in a years time then my head would say take the money and run.

As for the POTS award Olsson would have also been a worthy winner but even the most one-eyed Snodgrass critics must accept that he would still merit a podium finish (for the second season running) and that for his faults he is one of the best we have.

I could try changing my user name to "CromerCyclops", if that helps? :emoticon-0112-wonde

I just don't this at all, I've heard this criticism of him many times on here but just don't get it personally as I really don't think that he does.

I may be the only one, but I will be delighted if RvW stays.

Yes, he had an indisputably awful season last, but many foreign strikers struggle in their first season in English football and I'm confident that he has class and it will show in short time. I just hope it will be with us

I'll make three then. I'm preparing for the worst but will be delighted if he stays.

I completely agree Rob. I think he will come good. I wonder if he and Snodgrass really got on. Seems coincidental that he would tweet such a thing, while Snodgrass is almost out of the door.

I think Snoddy clearly developed an ego after becoming a regular for Scotland, and as several have said last season he was very poor at the start and never should imo been player of the season.
He can be replaced for £7m no problem.
Hopefully now the focus can be on a CAM with a decent fund available.

Certainly not the only ones, I'm still behind RvW and am convinced he'll come good, if not for us then his next side.

Under Hughton we were hugely reliant on Snodgrass for any creativity, and he didn't mesh well with our strikers. £7-8m for a player running out of contract is difficult to say no to, and hopefully some wise reinvestment will allow us to have more creative outlets in the side, ideally players picked to work well with our strikers.

Snodgrass was an important player for us at times, and had it been him rather than Bennett who got a season ending injury we'd have been much worse off, but he's not irreplaceable, particularly for the money being talked about. It just makes good business sense to me.

im right there with you! Think with a decent system he will tear defences apart in the Championship. He might not have the physical attributes required but his movement and the bit of extra time on the ball that he will inevitably get vs slower defences will put him in good stead.

Also hopefully we will play more attacking football and he will see the ball in the box a few more times! Still need an ACM to make things happen for him though (unless Adams is gona go diamond?!)

    Ruddy
Martin Turner Bennett olsson (for now)
    Fer
    Bennett Redmond
    Howson

    Lafferty/Becchio and RvW/Hooper/Grabban

Even then I think we need to bring in an ACM who is more creative then Howson. Good strike force though!
