Mikel Arteta has told Arsenal fans they WILL bring in big names before the summer market closes.

A section of Arsenal fans made their frustrations known at the lack of signings following yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Galatasaray in the Emirates Cup and Arteta admits the players are also desperate for some new faces in the dressing room.

“If the club can target players who will improve the team they are going to be very welcome because that is what we want — a better team, better players to compete and win trophies,” said the Spaniard.

“The club is working on that.

“It is in their hands and I am sure they are going to do it.”

YOu know what to do, cough up that 50+

So does that mean yet again there was booing? They really are classless, can't remember the last time boos rang out around Anfield. Certainly not for trivial ****e. Think that's twice already the Arsenal boo boys have been out this summer already

have we sold the f'er yet?

Arsenal were in for some no name teenagers in the press this morning which felt more their pace.

I can remember the last booes... hodgson ****e.... losses just before he got sacked.

I remember the faithful booing lfc in rafa's time after a 0-0 v fulham.

Yeah there was booing at half time and full time.

There was even booing for Higuiain who had the audacity to not beg to go to Arsenal despite no bid being made for him.

James..... How is Suarez going to a top 4 rival going to help us get to the top 4????

Liverpool are better off letting Luis Suarez leave for Arsenal.

That's the opinion of former Reds goalkeeper David James as the Uruguayan tries to force a move to the Emirates.

The ex-England international, who spent seven years between the sticks at Anfield, thinks the 26-year-old's presence is actually getting in the way of them becoming a better side.

"On a purely footballing side of things, as talented an individual as he is, the problem I find is that everything seems to go through Luis Suarez," he said.

"You have this talented player and there is no question about that but does it make the team better?

"I think there is so much hinging on Suarez that it is actually stopping Liverpool from progressing.

"I think the club, in letting him go, can actually then develop a lot more unpredictability about them, in the sense that they will have more options to play.

"(Daniel) Sturridge came in and was their second top goalscorer in half a season and you have Stevie G (Gerrard) there as always bolstering those numbers but there is so much focus on one player.

"Last season Liverpool finished seventh. I think without Suarez, they have a better chance (of finishing top-four)."

by strengthening a team that looks to be losing its grip on the top 4 spot?

that's just plain stupidity, and something we saw a lot from him between the sticks sadly.

Ya that article is a joke, that last sentence needs to have replace with Suarez quality and can do it but to just say without Suarez we have a better chance is daft ( and I am in the camp that wants Suarez out as long as we have adequate replacements lined up.)

Once again, even if Arsenal lose their grip on the top 4 spot, it'll be to Tottenham. Not Liverpool, who are miles away. No offence, but constantly claiming that you're candidates for the top 4 doesn't actually make it so.
You're million miles away from both Tottenham and Arsenal.

Where in his post did he put anything about Liverpool. You're looking to try to kick something off.

"by strengthening a team that looks to be losing its grip on the top 4 spot" I don't see LFC in there do you? The point was David James is talking out of his hoop that we will have a BETTER chance at fourth without Suarez.

You're hoping Tottenham or Everton capitalise if Arsenal drop out of the top 4? Come on man. It's obvious what that post meant.

agree to disagree on this gap crap, but selling a world class player to you who may lose the 4th place spot will make it harder for us to have any ambition of getting back in the cl, and yes Spurs would be my favs too, but then what if they lose Bale and you don't get Luis?, guess we are still miles away right.

shame we didn't have Sturridge and Coutinho from the start as all this gap crap isnt as bad as it looks,

Don't think we should be selling to Rivals ( i know we have in the past few years but it has to stop as we keep slipping!!) and whether it is Spurs, Arsenal, Everton, Us, if a Newcastle come along out of nowhere ( doesn't ahve to be them but someone like that from nowhere), we don't want of those teams in the top 4. But to sell to a direct Rival is just stupid. If we sold Suarez to you to help Tottenham and Everton not get the spot then we are ****ed and will never get bac in the CL with that sort of mentality.

We will see, it is still silly season with all the transfers and everyone getting excited about the upcoming season. I would like top 4 but unless we find some consistency I don't think we can achieve it. I would like us to at least get to a final of a cup, preferably the FA.

Just posted this on the arse board....

This just in....

Wenger said last night: "We always try to act properly but a transfer is always an agreement between three parties."

The thing is Wenger, it is initially an agreement with TWO parties, the fact that you thought you were aware of a trigger value, means you have been talking to the THIRD party, when you should not of had any contact at all. That is what Rodgers is questioning the lack of class over. How on earth would you know that a bid of £40M+1 would activate any clause? LFC knew it wouldn't, the only people under the illusion that it would, were the player and his thick agent, and for Arsenal to find out..... Has illegal approach written all over it.

Ornstein and Wenger have been playing tagteam banging Guardiola's backside

Good post. <ok>
Absolutely understandable that you don't want to sell Suarez to another English team. It's just how that idiot Rodgers, Liverpool officials and their ex players keep coming out with these bitter and smug comments about Arsenal all the time that annoys gooners.
What's the point? Why can't they keep it professional? Honestly, do you agree with that they are doing?
