Suarez is appealing the 9 match ban, I'm not sure if that means he is appealing the game and football ban but it could mean he is banned for even longer.

6 months should have been the minimum, but at least 9 games should be enough to massively dent LFC YNWA chances of fook all again. YAY!

#Suarez has been banned from all football related activity so technically he could play for Stoke.

    <laugh>

Uruguay are now threatening to withdraw from the World Cup in protest.

Not read the thread but I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned that he can't appeal the ban, that is set, only the fine can be appealed?

Also had a look on a Liverpool forum, they are outraged that it's far too heavy handed. Personally, I think it's not heavy enough, specially considering he'd have served almost half his ban before competition even starts, excluding the World Cup of course, but I can't see them getting much further anyway.

It's harsh on Liverpool, but it serves the twat right, 3 times is unforgivable. Also heard a Liverpool fan on talksport the other day say he actually tried to bite chiellini in the confederation cup last summer. Beggars belief, this really is a ridiculous situation. I'm guessing Liverpool will have very solid ground to claim a very hefty amount of cash off Suarez for his ridiculous antics leaving him unable to play for his club more often than not?

According to Sky earlier, Uruguay can appeal the ban, but Liverpool can't?

thats like us withdrawing from the champions league next year <laugh>

Probably because the international ban is for uruguay but the ban from football is directly for suarez, regardless of team

Not sure. I had talksport on in the car for 20 minutes. They said FIFA have left him no grounds for appeal for the ban but the fine can be appealed. The 4 month ban is for any football related activities, he's not even allowed to set foot in a stadium on a match day, but he can still transfer to another club during that time. FIFA cleared that up themselves. Didn't hear anything about Uruguay or Liverpool being able to appeal the ban, but whoever it was on talk sport were saying this wouldn't be the end, there's too many laws and regulations involved with things like this to make it so cut and dry that he can just be banned completely for four months with no right to appeal. They think it will go to court and both the ban and the fine will be reduced dramatically.

If he was a dog that had bitten somebody 3 times he would have been put down. In Goofy's case this would seem to be quite an appropriate punishment.
If this had happened in a local league he would have had a lifetime ban and rightly so. The same rule should apply to this ****head.

Do Liverpool still have to pay his wages during the ban? If so, that's ****ing criminal.

If the match is moved to the Sunday won't he still be banned? It depends whether the ban is from 26/06/14 to 25/10/14 or 26/10/14.

They have appealed the punishment, I wonder whether the punishment could be increased because of this appeal?

Far too lenient on the player, but criminally unfair on his club. A 12-month ban from international football and a £250k fine would have been my punishment.

Why? If you break the law, you get punished for it. You don't get out of it because it might affect your employer.

He's got off lightly, he's a major role model and this is the 3rd time. He's had his chances to act like a semi normal person and he clearly isn't able to. I just hope the appeal goes against them and they increase the ban for a frivolous appeal against an act that they are still in denial happened.

If he was called Luis Allam, you'd say everyone was overreacting and it was no big deal.
