Yes I was wrong in the end, but Certainly Not Deservedly So.

Whichever team gets relegated, deserves to be relegated, they got less points than the ones that stayed up. <doh>

Is that right ? well I never. <laugh>

When Tickler inadvertently takes the piss out of himself... :emoticon-0175-drunk

For the record, we more than deserved to get relegated. Absolute dross like Sunderland, Villa and Newcastle got more points than us for Christ's sake.

Yeah right. The real game of pro-football is much harder than football manager. As for playing him @ TWS ?

That's a pretty dull sound-bite you've taken from others using it at you; personally I've never used or seen this football manager game used, but I have played, coached and managed football and I see supporters who see the game as you do one of it's biggest problems.

I'll ask again, what would we or Luer have lost by starting him at TWS? Do you agree with the Greengrocer that starting him against Bolton would be harmful as he might score a goal? He's a 21yr old professional footballer, he's a fit one, he's a striker and that is what we need until others become available. What do you see problematic about that?

How many times have you seen luer play? Is he as good as you think? or are you just not happy with the Abel & Akpom? I've only seen glimpses serious question.

Ah, so you can discuss, good. Like everyone, I have seen glimpses, heard and read reports and hoped that circumstances would allow him to be used more gradually, but football isn't like that, is it? He is not a kid, he needs more development, but that comes in games and the games are dictated by the needs of the club. We should not of started without a striker against TWS, I mean, we started with Aluko ffs; we wasted Diame. Watch whatever you can of him and it is clear his awareness is spot on and he can look after himself, he's not a daft kid, he's had game time and he has scored - why measure the opposition like some do, just trust his player's instinct. I seen plenty of Akpom and Abel is injured, Aluko is a lost cause, so why not?

I love the 'go back to Football Manager' argument. Like you can't play simulated games and have a good footballing knowledge. If anything it helps with the background knowledge.

It goes without saying that anything said on here is opinion, it doesn't mean the person saying it is any more qualified than anybody else, we're all just words on a screen at the end of the day. Or in Tickles' case, lines on an Etch-a-Sketch.

I think Dio coming back will be a bit like when we signed Gedo; he'll start really well with a point to prove, but will gradually fade away, following the pattern of all our other strikers under Brucey. Shame really.

Incidentlally, I'm doing my first scouting misson next month in Finland, should be interesting. I'm being taught how to complie a dossier, what to watch out for during games and how to approach players when representing clubs. I can't wait, it's something I've always dreamed of doing, shame I'm having to do it out of my own pocket but I'm going with a guy that scouts for a Championship club that I made contact with over the Summer. Never been to Finrand (sic), I imagine it's like Milton Keynes. In fact, I was thinking about doing a scouting feature on here, I might give it a go.

Stop been dosile depressing ****.

Please do, I shall follow it with interest, but no Football Manager bollocks.

We need to beat Bolton and I just can't see SB starting luer when he's not even put him on and given him an odd ten minutes! And I was serious about us playing dross and Thats why I think we'll start with akpom! Luer is a risk SB can not afford! IMO

The home game with Sunderland and the away game @ Leicester where vital points were lost as both N'Doye and Jelavic missed easy chances. 2 draws when we should have had 2 wins = 4 points more and Aston Villa go down.

Yes other games can be mentioned as well but those 2 are obvious ones especially when the race to stay up increased.

N'doye also won us games off his own boot, and he and Jela combined to win us a lot of points as well.

Luer was suggested for last weeks game as we had no fit forwards, this week we play the bottom club. Abel may not be fit again and Akpom is a loanee who has mood swings. If Luer can't get a go now when will he? He has already shown his worth in the under 21's and cup games.

I can't see him start him, either; even though he has given him the odd ten minutes-plus and given him praise. I never call another team dross, it's weak and usually comes back to bite. I can't think of one solitary reason why Akpom would start, except the fact that Steve Bruce is our manager - although, to be fair, I very much doubt even Bruce will start him.

Deal. Football Manager is just a game, I've been privelidged enough to get a chance to see if I actually understand the game on a higher level, or whether I've been talking out of my arse the entire time. I fear the latter, but we shall see.

So if Abel is injured and you don't think SB will start luer or akpom then who? We go into another game starting without a striker? Maloney is very good but he's not a striker and won't be getting on the end of many crosses!

Sterling Archer feels that Meyler is worse than most midfielders at this level.

Hopefully he will start Luer, but the probability is he would play Maloney and Diame as a makeshift. He hopes Elmo will get on the end of crosses. What do you think?
