We need a striker to start the game! We've haven't got many! So I'm going with akpom with Diame/Maloney if no Abel? Elmo should be supplying 50% of the crosses so he can't be expected to replicate Saturday's goal every game? We'll have to wait and see Saturday!

I love the 'go back to Football Manager' argument. Like you can't play simulated games and have a good footballing knowledge. If anything it helps with the background knowledge.

It goes without saying that anything said on here is opinion, it doesn't mean the person saying it is any more qualified than anybody else, we're all just words on a screen at the end of the day. Or in Tickles' case, lines on an Etch-a-Sketch.

I think Dio coming back will be a bit like when we signed Gedo; he'll start really well with a point to prove, but will gradually fade away, following the pattern of all our other strikers under Brucey. Shame really.

Incidentlally, I'm doing my first scouting misson next month in Finland, should be interesting. I'm being taught how to complie a dossier, what to watch out for during games and how to approach players when representing clubs. I can't wait, it's something I've always dreamed of doing, shame I'm having to do it out of my own pocket but I'm going with a guy that scouts for a Championship club that I made contact with over the Summer. Never been to Finrand (sic), I imagine it's like Milton Keynes. In fact, I was thinking about doing a scouting feature on here, I might give it a go.

I've never used Football Manager but many of my mates have and they find it a useful tool. Never say never, I suppose.

Opinion, yes it is, but some of it is quite revealing.

Go on, be a devil, just for the fun of it, before you morph into a dreary journo, say just one positive thing about an up and coming prospect; go on, you know you want to. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Your scouting mission sounds excellent and I envy you, truly. Enjoy it, that above all things, enjoy it and share it, I look forward to it. <ok>

No need to worry, we will soon see Snodgrass used as a 9 with Aluko 10 and Akpom, Hernandez and Luer on the bench.

Yeah right. The real game of pro-football is much harder than football manager. As for playing him @ TWS ?
well you think what you like. I feel sure than many many others don't share it.

We were relegated over the seasons results. However the Sunderland(h) and Leicester(a) stand out as games drawn that should have been won. Even Hernandez missed a one on one @ Leicester.

As for Long going was nothing to do with football. We got way over the odds for him. His sale was not the reason we were relegated either. Missed chances by N'Doye and Jelavic were in the end.
Players are always going to miss chance. The club can't be blamed for that. Whether Long wanted to go or not isn't the point. You don't want to sell him before you get an adequate replacement. Hernandez was always going to be a risk compared to some strikers who are always sure to get plenty of goals.

Finnish girls are fantastic. They're very straighforward.

We most certainly will not.

I'd have said the same at one point. But having seen Ince and Brady play as a front two as well as the deadly aerial combination of Aluko and Ramirez feeding off the crosses, I wouldn't rule anything out.

Do we assume that with Luer not playing for the U21's that he's in contention to start against Bolton? I suspect Brucey will start again with Akpom and replace him with Luer unless he's playing out his skin and is back on it! Leave Aluko on the bench please.

I thought that on Monday when Luer was not involved. With Hernandez a no no for the Bolton game Luer will get some game time. Hopefully ahead of Aluko and Akpom.

Neither deserve to be anywhere other than the bench imo.

Agreed, if it was me, Aluko nor Akpom would be anywhere near the starting 11 based on recent form. So much for not needing to rush Diomandes debut!

Maybe with Daws back Bruce will experiment with Maguire up top which seemed to be an emergency route they were going to go down a few times last season
