Steve Bruce

Work for Allam who lets you get on with it but is a bit nuts. He will however back you to the hilt.
Work for Ashley who is an interfering ****er and is a lot of a ****. He will sell his own mother for a profit.

Let me think.

In a nutshell.

It's tough to call

Newcastle are about as far as a manager can take them with the current backing
Many managers quote the phrase "I've taken the club as far as I can"
I don't see Newcastle pushing into the top 6 or 7 anytime soon , though that is where their next level is
As for city I think we can push on as far as where Newcastle are over the next couple of years

we have a better team than newcastle now

I have extended family in Newcastle and as far as I understand it Pardew is the puppet of Ashley and Ashley DOES have a say on matchdays.

Like I say the size of the club isn't the issue the owner is and like I said Allam maybe a bit nuts but he doesn't get involved and backs his man.

That's true for 1 out of the 3 managers yes.

i've never understood the newcastle ashley hate

is it because he doesn't pay for the players for newcastle to succeed at a trophy level? that's all i see them complaining about, when really, they haven't won a trophy for almost as long as england

i guess the 90s overheightened their expectations

Regularly selling their best players and not reinvesting.

Renaming the stadium.

Never communicating directly with fans and putting a series of oafs and buffoons in charge at boardroom level.

Making the club a total laughing stock by appointing Jokin' Ear as manager.

Renaming Shearer's Bar.

Appointing Dennis Wise as Director of football.

Being a cockney.

That's off the top of my head.

I'm listening to mass Geordie wingeing every day of my life.

It's a wonder I'm still sane.

Anyway me and Mr Flibble are just going to ensure that Mrs Shackleton has her two hours without oxygen. That'll teach her to be a breadbasket.

i actually heard a conversation yesterday while having a cig on lunch break at the trinity church seating place, two blokes

bloke 1: i fkin hate hull city

bloke 2: why?

1: because there in our stadium

2: how is it your stadium?

1: well look who owns fc..

2: what?

1: pearson owns fc.. and he got the stadium for hull city, now hes at fc, they should **** off

i laughed my arse off, i shoulda shouted what a ****, but probably not a good idea

Serious question, I don't know the answer, why is Ashley seen as an interfering type? What's he done? I know there's been stuff about Abramovic insisting on certain playing being signed and played at Chelsea in the past, but unless I've forgotten it I don't recall anything about Ashley doing anything similar?

I think you'll find that he pissed P45dew off massively when he decided, in his ultimate wisdom, to bring in the footballing genius that is Joe Kinnear, great move that was, and I'm sure Brucey would have noticed ;)

One reason is Joe Kinear

Whatever feelings some of the fans have about the Allams, Steve Bruce seems to have a fantastic working relationship with them, plus they are backing him to the hilt. Hull City is just as good for Steve Bruce as Steve Bruce is for Hull City. His stock was low after the Sunderland debacle, but let's be honest, Paul Daniels couldn't sort out that club. I think he's better off staying here and seeing if he can't tick off some more career firsts (FA Cup final last season, European football this).

No. Bruce runs the football side of this club, he's got free rein. He knows whats going on at Newcastle, he wouldnt touch it with a barge pole.

Steve Bruce said:
"I could have done [moved to Newcastle], and in hindsight it was a mistake I didn't go there," Bruce told Sky Sports.

"It was just the timing of it, I'd committed myself to Birmingham at the time and there was this stigma about loyalty with me at the time. I only had four clubs as a player, I seemed to have four clubs in 20 months when I was a manager!

"I always think what if. But as I said I'd committed myself to Birmingham at the time and it didn't happen so I had to see it through and there you go."

Wouldn't be too sure fella. Lucky Pardew won't be getting the sack.

Steve Bruce will stay as long as the Allam family are in control. There is an underlying reason for this SB has found the Holy Grail in football management, owners who hang on to every word of his.

No matter what anyone else say's the relationship isn't as close as we all imagine. SB has a greater level of management input than he will get at any PL club. He is the one the owners look to and his word is gospel, for the moment. SB has delivered and more, whilst that is the case he has the total confidence of the Allam family.
