It doesn't really matter either way Dutch, he grew up supporting Toon, he could have been purebred Mackem but he'd never have been forgiven that, especially when the inevitable hard times hit.

The lack of respect for the Allams from you, given what they have done for this football club, is even more disappointing.

People going on about how much we've spent. Last summer we spent £18m, January around £16m and this summer £21m. Although our wage bill is probably around £50m PA.

People keep going on about how Allams don't get involved with Bruces job. But it's hardly a rarity is it? I'm struggling to think of owners in the English game who do get involved. Tan, Ashley, Cellino and possible Gold and Sullivan

This just seems like you're desperate to take a particular view, I really can't understand why some people are so determined to forget the bad things Allam has done. I know some things are going well but it can't be hard to accept that some things can be bad while others are good.

I've explained this in another thread, but as the club stated at the time he was sacked for comments made in the media, and in the interview in question he didn't say anything controversial himself, he just didn't deny Burnsy's suggestion that money wasn't available in January. You say these things change as if it's just okay to treat a club legend like that. Other clubs don't do it. What could have changed in 2 months? The results were good, he'd taken us into the playoffs from being 8th when he took over, and since it was the first window he hadn't had chance to make any bad signings which might have suggested he wasn't to be trusted to spend money. It was common knowledge that he took a pay cut at the time, the reason presumably being that managers are generally paid less than players. There's absolutely no doubt he sacrificed a lot to take the job, only for Allam to decide 2 months later that he wasn't good enough to be trusted with his money, and then sack him for not denying it.

Of course I don't know how much Pearson wanted, but I think it's fair to say any manager would have liked to spend the several million Bruce spent in his first season here, and it wasn't preference that led NP to go for mainly loans and free transfers like Adebola, Belaid, McKenna, Gulacsi, Basso, etc. It really looks like you're desperately searching for something not to add up. It's blatantly obvious that Allam had no time for Barmby or Pearson and didn't back them. So yes he backs Bruce, but as I said originally, it's 1 out of 3.

Let it go PLT, until you have rock solid evidence to support your assertions, let it go.
