Eh, what you on about now. It’s was clearly said at the time it was from FPP. Contrary to your belief you don’t know everything so why make things up.
To be fair, is it any surprise that the u23 team is struggling? We've just suffered successive relegations, have/had a mountain of financial problems to cope with and are trying to rebuild the club. I dont think the under 23s is the immediate priority and how can we compete with the top clubs when they have a spare few million to chuck at their young talent. I think some of our fans are pretty deluded. Stewart Donald doesnt have big enough pockets to take us beyond this season. But he has never hidden that. He bought the club cheap, took on the problems and used the parachute payments as security for Short? I dont think he is this lying, charlatan many are making out. Out of his depth? Yup. Not rich enough,? Yup.
No sorry you've got the wrong end of the stick about what I'm saying, don't have a go for no reason, the loan is from FPP to Madrox, I was just saying that technically the club really is debt free, Madrox (owned by Donald) owes FPP $12m.
Sorry mate but this board has been going a long time now and myself and a few of the original members could see what Ellis Short was up to in 2010, he absolutely drained our club and on the pretence of selling to new owners (blood), he did a deal with an insurance broker (mate) from Hampshire with a love for Oxford, a old Etonian to take over our club for pennies, with a club debt written off to himself in return for the parachute payments. The whole thing stinks from top to bottom. We have dropped 2 divisions, in our 2nd at league 1 with hardly a penny spent and this Southern, poncy pocket liner has filled the fans heads full of **** from the moment he brought his lacky Methven in, until he walks away with basically our parachute payments back as profit. Donald typifies everything that makes people want to cave some ****ers head in, they leach money, money is their bible.. Time to wake up and smell the ****ing coffee for a lot of fans, was surprised Ellis turned up for the cup final last year like, if there was ever a doubt about the deceit around our club, then that pigeon proved it by being there...
So if it’s owed by Madrox and his debt only and nothing to do with safc why can he not sell up without paying them back.
Because Madrox owns the club and they've secured the $12m on those shares. If Madrox don't pay it back, the club goes to FPP. The club can't have any (direct) financial repercussions from the non-payment of it. So nobody would buy a club which has already been used as a guarantee on a loan until the loan is resolved, and in fact, Donald even needs to get FPP's permission to have those conversations.
My take on it is that he knows what finance is needed going forwards now he knows the lay of the land (he probably had an idea from the start but thought we'd go up last season) - now he knows he can't afford/won't risk it, when the 'fans' letter came out I bet he thought that was a great Christmas present giving him the opportunity to save face giving the fans what they want without saying the truth.
The thing that does **** me off is him saying ‘the club is now debt free’. It was gifted to you debt free pal.
As long as the parachute payments went Ellis's way.. Hardly a foothold to regain our position in the Premier league was it..
Still waiting for Micky gray and his consortium to come in. They shouted long and hard pre Donald, well if the club is debt free, there is never a better time to come in Micky been on talksport yet about this, he was on plenty at the time
You probably answered your own question there, people are gullible, believe what they read and just follow blindly until the **** hits the fan..
100% this IMO. The Fanzines took it upon themselves to go 'Donald, you need to go, get out, the fans are tired of you' (paraphrasing obviously) but still... There was no poll on any of the multiple sites fans can go to, no "how to folks feel about...?", nothing, not even within the groups by all accounts. Just those people thinking they can speak for everyone. The then childish behaviour of both sides makes us look stupid, ALS having a dig at SD on Twitter, SDs defensive statement about selling up. Donald has made some mistakes, for sure, but his heart is in the right place. Personally, I'd like to see some kind of remediation between the fanzines and SD, a bit of a clear of the air and we move on. Knowing our luck we'll end up with the next version of the Venky's.
My twopence worth is that Stewie on his statement is putting a spin on it as whoa is me. I saved your club but you have turned on me. FFS Stewie put your big boy pants on and deal with it. From someone who turned transparency to cloak and dagger you reaped what you sowed. Taking a few months off because you couldn't handle the heat in the kitchen didn't bode well I'm afraid. We all just need to move on.
