If what you’re saying is right then the fan base was divided before they made the statement.
You only had to be there in the stadium to hear the chants during that Bolton game to know how a lot of people were feeling though
Yeah, that they wanted Parkinson out mate :emoticon-0140-rofl:

That would've been a fair statement and to demand that or significant investment before January makes sense. What they did didn't and has only deepened the crisis and divided people further.

I don’t think there’s a crisis at all. We’re winning games again which is all anyone ultimately cares about. The Donald stuff has been going on in the background since the summer. And I’m not convinced he would have spent this month anyway.

Online polls naturally attract strong opinion and more often that not in this scenario the people with the strongest opinions will be negative ones while a lot are undecided. I've never heard a 'sack the board' type chant at the SOL for Donald and co...... whereas there were plenty for Murray and Short.

I think they jumped the gun based on keyboard warriors. Action was needed, and pressure applied before January. But I don't think everyone was at the point of wanting to push Donald out and demanding that in particular just before a transfer window is foolish.

This. If the right offer came along I'd hope he sells but I wasn't at the protesting in the ground stage. If he invested well this window (I know he hasn't previously but still) and we went up then, although I'd still be concerned about the lack of structure, I'd be happy enough tbh. Tell him we expect a massive improvement from January onwards including some ambitious signings, but a "get out" when it's too late to sell before the window seems ill judged. Equally if we knew FPP weren't just waiting to take over even less would be keen to push him out now, we've no idea who might buy us and that's got to be a concern, especially if things with Donald get adversarial.

This last bit has to be the main concern, I feel. At the moment, all sides can climb down from their positions and Donald's enthusiasm can be reignited. If there is any more animosity, he could decide that he doesn't care anymore and that would make things much worse.

Stuart Donald aligned himself with social media from day 1 at SAFC, so he naively put himself in that firing line.

I genuinely want to believe him when he speaks, but there is too much evidence to the contrary now. I don't trust his ability to find a suitable replacement for Parkinson, and I don't trust his mates in recruitment to transform our season in this transfer window.

It is a sad end to something that promised so much, and promotion last season wasn't too much to deliver

We're looking slightly better but we're not out of the woods yet mate.

FFS, i hear from a few people that they wernt speaking for me when in actual fact at the time there were polls all over the place (echo, twitter, rtg) suggesting the majority wanted him and parkinson gone. Like it or not it was a majority who wanted them gone so the announcement was representing a majority opinion.
The majority wanted him gone when we were licking our lips in anticipation at the prospect of an American takeover. Now those are wanting him gone either in hope that that will reignite the American takeover or are angry and blaming him for the 'takeover' fiasco. If not for the way the takeover was handled by club, media and supporters he wouldn't have been under half as much pressure at the moment.

You know that for certain do you or is it just an opinion - much like mine? You have no idea how many proper supporters want them out and how many back or how many, like me,, are completely apathetic to all of it.

I'm not bothered who's running our club, only thing that matters to me is how things are going on the pitch. The side is playing much better the last few games so that's all that matters to me. I'm not bothered whether dDonald stays or not as I know nothing about what is actually true and what isn't. Unlike the never sarcastic @FulwellBri who simply knows EVERYTHING going on at the club as fact and not opinion

TO paraphrase hilda Baker
That consortium is all hat and no knickers ( apologies if the word knickers upsets or embarrasses certain posters )
Grow up man! You’re embarrassing yourself and generally looking like a spoilt brat

They made perfectly clear who they were.
They gave an opinion on how the club was being run.
I dont believe they bugged themselves up as some are implying.
Mainstream media certainly lapped it up and made them out to be spokespeople and to paraphrase cantona 'the seagulls followed the trawler'.
The whole thing has gone pear shaped for donald and his thin skin has got thinner.
He has been after flipping us for a big quid since day 1 despite his platitudes, smoke and mirrors and weasel words to the contrary.
Potential buyers will see he has to sell. He doesnt want a fire sale.
Sadly fans are in the middle of this greed fest.
Some of the inferences that social media fan sites should keep schtum and not upset this venal upstart ( hope this is not deemed inappropriate language ) is laughable
Venal upstart, so you consider Donald has been open to bribery and corruption in his running of the club?
What a load of bollocks you talk as usual, you are absolutely loving being as negative as you possibly can.

I get your point, “better the devil you know” etc etc, but the bit I don’t agree with is his enthusiasm? It’s not about that imho, it’s his ability that’s the issue. He’s way way out of his depth, and just blusters along, says first thing that comes into his head and hasn’t the resources to move us forward.

Under his stewardship this club hasn’t just stagnated it’s dying, our academy gave us Liverpool and England captains, England’s keeper and many decent players. We’re now on the longest worst run in the clubs history at the reserve and youth level, with nothing coming through of any note. Our first team is struggling to make an impact in the third division and he has the audacity to turn this on the fans, he should hang his head in shame.

If he simply said this was a bigger job than I thought, I haven’t the skill or resources to get it done, most fans would welcome him back any time, but to now throw this pr bullshit up, he needs to just **** off, before he does us any more damage.

What I was getting at is that it's better to have a crap owner who cares about the club than any owner who actively dislikes the fan base.
