To be fair, is it any surprise that the u23 team is struggling? We've just suffered successive relegations, have/had a mountain of financial problems to cope with and are trying to rebuild the club. I dont think the under 23s is the immediate priority and how can we compete with the top clubs when they have a spare few million to chuck at their young talent.
I think some of our fans are pretty deluded. Stewart Donald doesnt have big enough pockets to take us beyond this season. But he has never hidden that. He bought the club cheap, took on the problems and used the parachute payments as security for Short? I dont think he is this lying, charlatan many are making out. Out of his depth? Yup. Not rich enough,? Yup.
How are you Mr Donald, keeping well? How’s the proposed sale going?

What i'm struggling with is the vocal ones who have been saying that he should leave are now calling him thin skinned when he's agreed to do what they want (something he's always said he would do by the way).

It seems that the message from RAWA etc should have read "Donald out as long as it's FPP that are taking us over". A bit like dumping a lass because the hot blonde with the big boobs smiled at you and then when your lass says "fine i'm out of here" the hot blonde says "Nah, i'm just not that into you"

It appears the 'fanzines' wanted to be seen, by the supporters' as proactive.

I don't believe they thought, for a second, their statement would have any effect.

They didn't have a Plan B so now don't know how to react.

There's no follow up statement and they've now cut all lines of communication with Donald.

They've alienated themselves from the supporters they purport to represent by speaking out in a rabble rousing arbitrary fashion.

In truth they've handled the whole thing as badly as the people they're accusing of bad practice.

This is the consequence of social media of which Donald, the fanzines and, to an extent, people on forums are a part.

There's been a few comments over the road stating that the club (SD) should have thought before releasing a statement. Guess that applies to the fanzines and RAWA as well but some seem to be ignoring that.

Inescapable but slightly embarrassing fact !

Now was not the time. Donald in January was going to be the first time we'd seen him in action knowing there was a total budget of £10m, seeing how some of that was spent now. If he failed or didn't use any of the funds, we would have our answers about him and could protest.

Instead these people have jumped the gun and engendered a bit of sympathy for him. Now everyone is distancing themselves from RAWA and co after a convincing win, and it looks scattergun and a little (as smug says) arbitrary. Why boxing day? Why was a 1-1 draw the tipping point? Is the objective just to get him to act on Parkinson?

The more I've thought about it the more I think the timing was absolutely awful. They should've done all this after Parkinson was appointed or left it until after the transfer window. Think most people thought Donald is likely to not take any criticism too well, to say the least, which in turn affects transfers this window.

We were told on here by people in the know that it’s win-win for Sunderland. If Donald goes, we get the Americans.

I’m not concerned in the slightest.

Well he's been trying (or at least prepared) to sell us for 6 months and more without success and I doubt if we're more saleable now than we have been

I agree kind of, but he's quite explicitly said he was pretty close with someone else. Unless that was completely lying (and it may be an exaggeration) there's clearly a possibility...

I take it that they've retaliated aften how they've been hung out to dry when Donald told them Dell were taking over.

He lets his mouth go too quickly and too often.

He should learn from Ashley tbh who speaks once every five years.

Aye, for all we know he's got a buyer all lined up and is using the "fans statement" as an excuse to do nowt in the window and just pass the whole show on. Not sure what to believe now - all I want is a decent club(and team) to support

We're all in the same boat marra. We've been spun so many truths,half-truths and untruths in the last 18 months, coming at us from every direction, nobody knows what to believe anymore......sad state of affairs.
