Personally I do not blame him for getting out or for any potential investors for running a mile from our club. The abuse was absolutely scandalous. The negativity will also mean that players will jump at the chance of leaving our club and make it harder to sign players.
If you want to own and run a football club you either need to be off social media or have a thick skin, knowing that vitriol etc is massively exaggerated and not representative.

Not justifying the abuse at all though.

There were members from 2 of the fan groups who contacted the radio at the weekend and said they didn't ballot the members to produce that statement. That, in itself, is a shocking way to run them. It's a "we'll publish this as a general consensus from our members, even though we haven't asked their opinions" A massive press release like that should be put to every member before being publicised and it wasn't. I know a lot of members of the groups who disagree with their statement. Not necessarily the content but the way it was done. It came across as very self righteous IMO. To publish this as if it's everyone's opinion is shockingly done and that's how it read to me.
It was also poorly timed. Pressure on the owner to sack PP/invest in Jan would've been appropriate. Demanding the owner leaves right before a transfer window opens is just plain stupid.

I suppose that depends on whether or not 'discussing' the statement is actually beneficial to the club or not. Personally, I think their overly defensive response contributes to the levels of ill-feeling between the fanbase and the board, which is only harmful to the club at this stage.

That's totally irrelevant imo.

Can't agree with that tbh.

We've been battered down from the PL to League One and promised all sorts by Donald.

If you're happy to lap up the praise you have to take the flak.

The West Ham owners were physically attacked, the pitch invaded, marches through the streets, fans fighting each other.

They're in the PL, with a new stadium and a team of internationals, yet the media sympathised with them.

What we did was mild tbh.

There's no doubt in my mind that SD is using the fanzine statement as a convenient excuse to go. When you've said so many contradictory things, it sometimes becomes difficult to remember what you've said to whom.
The concern I have now is into whose hands is he now going to leave us.
Mind you, I still don't understand what has gone on with these American fellas.
At one time,it seemed to me that they would be waiting and ready to take over. Doesn't seem to be the case though and,if that's right, why would they loan Donald £10m.........it's a lot of money, but, not to them in the scheme of things? Unless it gives them first refusal?

Still waiting for Micky gray and his consortium. They made plenty of noise before Donald took over. Here is their opportunity

They made perfectly clear who they were.
They gave an opinion on how the club was being run.
I dont believe they bugged themselves up as some are implying.
Mainstream media certainly lapped it up and made them out to be spokespeople and to paraphrase cantona 'the seagulls followed the trawler'.
The whole thing has gone pear shaped for donald and his thin skin has got thinner.
He has been after flipping us for a big quid since day 1 despite his platitudes, smoke and mirrors and weasel words to the contrary.
Potential buyers will see he has to sell. He doesnt want a fire sale.
Sadly fans are in the middle of this greed fest.
Some of the inferences that social media fan sites should keep schtum and not upset this venal upstart ( hope this is not deemed inappropriate language ) is laughable

TO paraphrase hilda Baker
That consortium is all hat and no knickers ( apologies if the word knickers upsets or embarrasses certain posters )

That depends really. I remember for years, Carlisle fans wanted Michael Knighton out of their club and sang about it at every game. He really was running the club badly and in response to the criticism he got stated that the people of Carlisle didn't deserve a football club. All Donald has done is appoint a **** manager (and even that is a situation that could now be improving) and not sell the club to some people who may not have wanted to buy it in the first place. The statement from the fanzines was out of proportion with the problems.

FFS, i hear from a few people that they wernt speaking for me when in actual fact at the time there were polls all over the place (echo, twitter, rtg) suggesting the majority wanted him and parkinson gone. Like it or not it was a majority who wanted them gone so the announcement was representing a majority opinion.

Like it or not that's just total guesswork.

More angry shouty self righteous people will go on Twitter, write to papers, etc than the calm rational majority ...

... and that's guesswork as well, easy isn't it?

Online polls naturally attract strong opinion and more often that not in this scenario the people with the strongest opinions will be negative ones while a lot are undecided. I've never heard a 'sack the board' type chant at the SOL for Donald and co...... whereas there were plenty for Murray and Short.

I think they jumped the gun based on keyboard warriors. Action was needed, and pressure applied before January. But I don't think everyone was at the point of wanting to push Donald out and demanding that in particular just before a transfer window is foolish.

Not what I'm saying at all. I just don't think we've/they've helped us and you can tell from the phone-ins etc. that they've divided rather than united the fan base.

It was ill advised and poorly timed.
If what you’re saying is right then the fan base was divided before they made the statement.
You only had to be there in the stadium to hear the chants during that Bolton game to know how a lot of people were feeling though
