Not from a money point of view, I agree with Hatty on that, but from a football point of view. They do have short careers and despite what some people believe, they do want to be a success and have memories from their playing days. No player wants to waste his peak years at an utterly dysfunctional club with no ambition to even stay up. He knows we're not going to sign anyone and he'll want to go and sign for another club where he'll have decent players around him to help him achieve something.
If we're keeping hold of him for now to get a bigger fee that's probably the best result we can hope for under the circumstances. We just have to hope his performances don't drop as a result of not wanting to be here.
We spunked 20 million on **** in the summer. Astute buys and we'd be three or four places higher as the pl is shut this year.
They train they play that's it. They don't get involved they aren't interested nor should they be in anything else.
