I wouldn't mind that. Don't mind pubs on match days, perhaps having a drink and soaking up match atmosphere. I love the toon bars before a game.

I just don't like drinking nights out tbh

My favourite sort of day is a cracking match being on in the pubs at 1pm, so I can have a seat at the club, watch that game, then heading to the toon match straight after. Hopefully a good 3pts will be achieved, and I can get home to a nice takeaway, put my feet up and watch Barca/Real or some good foreign footy, then watch MOTD <ok>

    Heaven <ok>

Gotta say lads some of the banter on this thread tonight is cracking me up...top effort <ok>

I agree with you Tash, pub or bar over a club all day long, too many people that love themselves in night clubs!

Aye, my mate and I often start in the pubs in gateshead because they're quiet, and we can watch the early kick-off with only the occasional incomprehensible interruption from a wino local, and we'll walk into Newcastle to the match or stop off at the Goose when it's a big match...

Taking it slow is the key though, because there's a fine line between enjoying yourself and getting so pissed you're begging for the half-time whistle after five minutes so you can waddle to the toilets, ultimately just to see your piss-neighbour's aubergine shaped genitals spraying your shoes with brown run-off...

And as I say that, we've just made arrangements for tomorrow... I might wear my old shoes...

Agreed. You can drink quite a bit but not get pissed, as long as you drink it sensibly.

I've been enjoying my alochol a lot more since I kept my drinking to 1-2 days a week, and put gaps between my drinking. I Used to drink about 2-3 double vodka and cokes, 3-4 times a week. Nothing outrageous, but it wasn't healthy. Not only the vodka but the coke/fanta/irn bru or whatever I put with it.

Eventually I started losing the buzz, and decided to stop for 9 days. First night I drunk it, I was buzzed after my first double vodka and coke. Tipsy after my 2nd.

It's so much better to spread it out.

    Much healthier too <ok>

    Absolutely <ok>

We don't really go out drinking except for home match-days, so after 3 drinks we're set. Where's your favourite pre-match food? Usually we like a pub-lunch if we time it well, otherwise I end up getting an overpriced hot-dog at the ground just before kick-off, which tastes a bit too much like school dinners (/if Jamie Oliver had scratched his arse then chopped off his fingers and served them in a bun), for my liking... Subway's quite good, but sometimes they only have one worker on show serving (while the other is in the toilets, presumably wretching out whatever they later put in their specials)...

I never buy food at the ground. I usually don't eat before the match tbh. I usually have 2-3 bacon sandwiches around 10am on the days before I go to matches, and that keeps me going til 5, after the match. Me and my dad sometimes go for a meal at Lau's buffet in China town afterwards. It's ****ing brilliant. Lush food. I <3 lemon chicken, chicken wings with curry sauce, sweet and sour pork, and noodles :D It's a great chinise resteraunt.

Or we come home for a Lasagne/Spag bol or Sunday Dinner <ok>

But, back to pre-match food, I aint a normal day for me tomorrow, since my family are away on their hols, there's no bacon in the house, and also I'm working, which means a bowl of cereal at 7am.

I'll probably just grab a Burger King. I rarely eat at those sorts of places, but once in a while it's nice.

Meh. A pub lunch sounds lush though mate.

Nah it's just my mam and dad on a week to Scotland together lol

And Lau's is a good shout before the game, if you want a nice belly busting meal. The deserts aren't really that nice, just cheap ice cream in a bucket, but I never go to that sort of restaurant and have a desert anyway.

    Perfect! <ok>

Congrats on the milestone. Drinks are on me (again, seeing as AB's wallet is stuck together).

I hope that isn't you in that pic, because that isn't a yard of ale - it's Tash's 'sample'.
