How can anyone put Barmby above McCarthy or Davies and say that Barmby would have done better. How can you say that? What evidence do you have to back that up? Two of those three are proven quality managers at this level. I would haver prefered NB to still be in charge, but he isn't. Yet we may have a chance to appoint one of two managers who have far better records than Nick, and who would both be great option.

Then you criticize the likes of Lee Clark and Greg Abbott when both are identical Barmby bar the fact there not born in Hull! Both have achieved more as managers than Barmby, both are highly rated by many people in the game as good coaches, which is vital for a team that are on a tight budget. I think we all agree we would love Barmby to be our manager, but just because he's not doesn't mean we should just say every other manager is **** and that you don't like them. Look at things from a neutral point of view rather than some stupid loyalty.

On Browny i remember the great times, however them great times where brought about by stupid spending. If Barmby had the money Brown had in the Championship we would be in the Premier League. Then in the PL he was brilliant yet for some unknownreason he changed, his tactics went awry, his man management was poor and his signings. Bar one and a half seasons he has done nothing in management. But i would love him back for his personality. So i am very split on him.

Also OLM is Mark Robins being considered or is that just a name you've thrown in? Good option to if its true, hope it is, anything you can tell us?
What evidence do you have to say that Barmby wouldn't do better than the names bandied about? It's about opinions and mine is Ehab Allam or whoever Barmby upset has made a blunder getting rid that is going to set us back. I'd love to be proven wrong.

I have evidence that the other two managers have proven track records at doing well in this division. What evidence do you have? You seem like a nice bloke but you let emotions ruin your decisions and don't think logically about who our next manager should be. Nick has gone, whether you agree or disagree with that decision, i personally disagree also, but what can we do to change that? Nothing.

Parapet. Head above. I'd be happy to have Megson and surprised he hasn't been mentioned. I know that won't be popular.

Wow.

@City1904, I'd suggest people's frustrations aren't just about the loss of Barmby but about the truly appalling list of available replacements. Davies would be good but I don't see it happening and McCarthy whilst he has a decent record, is a bit of a **** and I can't see him wanting to come here. The other names mentioned are uninspiring to say the least. I don't know a lot about Abbott especially compared to you but the others all have significant downsides and some have no upside! (e.g. Megson, Blackwell)

I've always thought that Glenn Hoddle has been incredibly unlucky not to get back into management. His spell with England was the last time I remember really enjoying watching England and before that he was pretty successful as a club manager.

I think someone somewhere in another thread mentioned his name but I've not seen it anywhere else. He would fit us perfectly I'd have thought: passing football, record of developing young players and a high profile that would get fans feeling positive again.

Thoughts?

Think Hoddle might be too tied up with his business interests these days, he did a great job with Swindon initially though he did get a bit of Brownie bonkers head going when he was England boss, all that about the faith healer Drewery or whatever her name was?! Good football principles though.

That one's just thrown in by me, I was about to start a campaign to get Sean O'Driscoll appointed, then he went and took the Crawley job, so Robbins is my plan B.

The dreaded " we will take our time" line has been uttered. This generally means that all the decent manager have said no e.g McCarthy, Davies etc (probably due to being asked to work on a tight/no budget) and they are rooting around at the bottom of the barrel. Expect Blackwell/Dowie/Megson or someone of equal dubious quality to be in charge.

I think the manager has been decided, probably even appointed, we're just waiting for Nick's appeal before announcing it.

And I still think it's Clark(guess, not information).
