That bothers me a bit too, but you can't knock his record with them and there could be a bit of malice on their part because he went for the Leeds job.
If that's the real short list, there's only one man for me, it's time to come home, it's time to come hhhoooommmmeeeeee!!
Cool, it's a done deal. To be honest I don't even care when I win that bet and won't be asking for payment. As for Davies, people talk about Brownies record in the Prem but he was a million times worse, also he is an even bigger arsehole than Mccarthy. How far have we fallen in the last few weeks, sorry rant over, have a good weekend all.
I agree totally DJ, I'd rather him back than any on that list, then again I'd rather Nicky was still boss. Brownie kept us in the Prem and saved us from relegation only three or four years back, I don't want Lee Clark or any other such dummy pulling our club down.
Yea it's took me a while to decide who id like, but my shortlist be very short. Phil Brown or Billy Davies. Mcarthy would be good but i don't think he would come.
OMG....Its only when you sit back and look at that list for a few minutes that you now realise just how much Hull City are now in the brown stuff. As if any of them are better than Nick Barmby would have been for us. Mad Mick and Mouthy Billy have the experience but not the footballing brain of Barmby. Sean O'Driscoll is now the manager of Crawley Town and OGS looks Villa bound. FFS, Can the Allams and Barmby take 2 steps back and think of the bigger picture which is the well being of Hull City AFC and not simply there egos. Its never to late to make up is it for the good of one and all.
I think fans aim high when thinking about their club and rightly so to an extent. However, the news this morning about Villa wanting Solskjaer puts in to perspective the unrealistic expectations some City fans have. Whilst I dont feel we should have been put in this situation (Barmby should still be manager), we need to be realistic about the calibre of manager we can attract
IMO, Mad Mick may well be the new Wigan manager IF Roberto Martinez gets the Liverpool job. Billy Davies maybe top of the list for the Birmingham job again IF Chris Hughton leaves(for WBA as an example.)
I agree. But do you really think anyone of any quality will want to work for the Allams ? I dont at all. This is beyond madness. imo.
I want Brownie back. If we cannot have managers who have a good track record because they will challenge the board to support them to succeed. If we cannot have one of our own because he is not going to be allowed to make the small mistakes anyone learning has to make. If we cannot attract quality coaches from Europe because we would be competing with a number of Premiership clubs who are also seeking new management. Then I want someone who, although not without flaws, is known quantity, has a rapport with the fans and is a proven quality coach with our club. I like a number of people, don't really believe in pi55ing in the same river twice, but when you review the realistic alternatives, Brownie alongside Nobby is surely the best option, IF the above is true.
He keeps the Man Utd link going i guess and is the best name mentioned so far. An ex-player who would get the respect from the squad and the player WHO SAVED SAF FROM THE SACK many moons ago.
Sadly, with the possible exception of Mark Robins i would agree with you. Robins does play attacking football.
