Why? It's been well documented that Monty has a fetish for large turnips

Some time ago I read a piece that 'explained' one of the ways Man City get round the FFP rules.
The Sponsorship of their Stadium is (or was) apparently the most lucrative in sport.
The name of sponsors, Etihad, is on the Stadium and the strips and this generates more that all the other activities, including TV income and gates, put together.

So the pull that the owner has can make a huge difference, it seems.

As a Club, SAFC traditionally relied on local business sponsorship and raise a couple of £mil or so.
Then we went to betting companies and while welcome we were never anywhere near the top of the sponsorship league.
We weren't even in the same division.

So I wonder who our new board might have as friends or contacts?

I would though be very worried if the Club ever lost ownership of the ground.
The example of Coventry is there for all to see.

Of course, till it's happened, this is not merely 'jumping the gun', it's speculation well into the 'cloud cuckoo land' variety.

The EFL simply do not have that power and couldn’t enforce it.

Who are they to say that someone isn’t prepared to pay a premium? It would never stand up legally, same as with City and Etihad.

They said ‘Etihad will never see value from sponsorship deal that size’, Etihad said ‘we disagree’, end of story.

Wouldn't bother YB, ALS are saying it'll not get done till early next week.
oh and by the way Duncan Watmore is out for a further 2-3 weeks as he's had a blip with his recovery from a thigh injury.

Well there are (sadly) no surprises at all in that post. I'm gutted for Duncan mind - he was getting back to fitness before Bean took him out and he hasn'y managed much since! The injuries now seem more muscle niggles than anything connected to his knee injury.

As for the takeover, the EFL are such a bunch of c***s that they'll probably ensure it's delayed until the end of the next transfer wwindow just to chuck a spanner in the works!! They seem to have no idea what football means to fans!!

It was tongue in cheek mate. Having a great day at soft play. Although 45 year old with a cracked rib, I'm too old for this nonsense. <laugh>
