Seems he came here, scouted our club and academy and immediately took that information to Chelsea.
We should cease any kind of relationship or negotiation with Chelsea, although I could see us losing Livramento as a result but that is probably inevitable anyway, wouldn’t be surprised if they trigger that buy back in January just to continue their trajectory of being as irritating as possible.
Id expect it would have to be quite a bit more than the buy back price for City (£40m I think?)
Could sour the relationship with City if we sold him at basically the first opportunity, especially with Lavia they probably are planning on exercising the buy back and see this as more of a long term type loan agreement with us. If we sold him after 6 months to a rival I doubt they would he too welcoming with doing similar deals with us again in the future.
However if Chelsea banged down £60m+ for him then they may understand a bit more that we have to accept
Isn’t there a possibility that City could override a Chelsea bid and bring Lavia back in if they don’t want him to go?
I don't think City's buy back clause is activated until 2 years have passed.
Yes they could in theory match Chelsea bid, but I don’t think the buyback clause kicks in until the summer (maybe even summer 2024) so they can’t just buy him in Jan
Nah I couldn't see mine either just thought I'd throw it out there. Can't see Chelsea offering enough in January either way but the summer will likely be different.
