Used to love (late fifties) Boxing Day fixtures with my Dad, walking through drab streets to the Dell trying to look to see what other kids had had for a presents, almost exclusively men and nippers up onto the terraces to see the pitch, the waft of Christmas present cigar smoke pervading the terraces being handed down by friendly hands and lifted over the wall to sit very close to the touch line, so close could nearly touch Paine and Sydenham patrolling the touchlines. Finding Dad afterwards then back home to wait for the Football Echo to come out to check the league table read the match report and play with my toys.......what else was a twenty three year old boy to do?
A tidbit today from The Athletic was that we have a recall clause in Tella's deal but are unlikely to use it as he is playing and doing well. I expect it was in there for if he were not being played. I wonder how many similar clauses we have in other deals and whether we will use any of them? For example Lis has played just one game for Troyes. I get being second choice there is better than third here but surely we should be looking for somewhere where he can actually play every game? We definitely suddenly recalled someone last January and loaned them elsewhere even though they were being played so it is probably a standard clause
Though there are conflicting reports he's signing for Udinese and being loaned to Watford, so who knows. Edozie regen.
Yeah I have seen plenty suggesting he is Pozzo Group bound. I don’t see how he would get a work permit. Or why we need another prospect Left Winger. Sure if we are going to bring someone who will definitely start over Armstrong in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 as presumably Gakpo would have done (and ideally one that can also play in the front two as well) then fine. He doesn’t seem to be that guy Especially as we also have Edozie waiting and Tella due back from loan.
Stupid question, but did Chelsea actually sign Joe Shields in the end as I see they are now after Brightons head of recruitment as well. Unless their strategy is to go and steal every head of recruitment in the League and become some kind of recruitment agency fronted by a Football Club?
Yes they did. Just part of their team though. A group of people who will bring a more focused list of names for Todd to pick from

How tall is Bazunu? Just looked at one site and it claims 6ft 2ins, yet another site says that Alex McCarthy is 6ft 4ins. Looks like more than 2ins difference in their height. I have to say, especially at corners, I worry that Baz will get out jumped by opponents, or knocked aside a tad too easily.
