With Tella I think it’s also good to have those academy “Head Boy” figures too. Work hard and get good and you will get time, trust and investment.

When was Tella's previous contract due to expire? Might just be me, but it doesn't seem like a particularly long deal. If he has a great next season, then next summer he'll have just two years remaining. Maybe I'm over thinking it.

Guessing he had 2 years left, so an 18 month extension.

Saints are pushing for any signings made in January to be ineligible for games rearranged that were due to be played before 1st Jan. Newcastle fans now losing their **** on Twatter. <laugh>
Surely that is going to take a 14 Club vote that won’t pass ?

It would be great if it does. I just can’t help but see it blowing up in our face somehow. Although it not working and us losing isn’t exactly blowing up in our face

The counter people will make to this “what about people sold” will hopefully incentivise teams to get on with rearranging fixtures before this happens

Where is this from btw ? Sky sports?

I admire Ralph for sticking with this because the injustice is infuriating. But what he’s suggesting will never work. The only answer is for the premier league to be fully transparent and fully consistent over why a game is being called off. Unfortunately that won’t help us now though…

It will only “never work” because the premier league doesn’t want it to due to venal self interest. Which is the reason the Newcastle purchase was signed off on in the first place when it ridiculously skews the league forever more

It is applied in other countries and competitions readily enough
