Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere - but what do we all make of Hojbjerg's comments that he wants to play at a higher level than where we are now and that he wants to win the premier league and champions league (sho doesn't?!)

My response would be along the lines of...

Whilst it is clear he should be playing for a club that isn't fighting relegation, he is not once looked good enough to play for a club competing for those trophies - if he had we might not be fighting relegation!

Saints are striving to be a top half club that contend for that final European spot, and with Hassenhuttl I think we will get there soon. I'd say Hojbjerg is at about that level - think Everton/Wolves not Man City/Liverpool.

Id pretty much agree, if he was playing top notch stuff for us and being regularly influential he could look around.... when he signed he joined a project that became bogged down under Puel, Hughes, and Pellegrini.... he needs quality players around him and there’s the rub. If he wants to be successful as we all want him to be and cement his status as a club legend and captain dependable, the club needs to replace Romeu and some of the other bit part players with quality. Unfortunately with Gao having deep pockets (not as deep as they once were) and having short arms.... I think it’s likely that either a) he will join a Europa League regular from another country or b) Ralph will convince him to stay as part of him signing a new contract....

According to some media outlets, Spurs fans are drooling over the prospect of PEH arriving at White Hart Lane, am alone in thinking that they have seen something we haven’t?
I’m not saying he isn’t a decent player with a good attitude but a top six player ready for Champions League? Really
I would put him down as our fourth choice midfielder behind JWP, Armstrong and Redmand in our formation. Will Smallbone came in this season and made a big impact in that central midfield position
If we get £35m for PEH I would be laughing all the way to the bank tbh

Agreed, think he's been poor for the majority of this season. Seems a long time ago that people were comparing him to Morgan lol...
The Spurs fans are wetting themselves with excitement at him arriving, have they not seen him when we played Spurs? Like I said he certainly is a decent player but better than they already have? Not sure at all

He's not stood out for me this season at all. But I do think he's the sort of player who would thrive if surrounded by better players.

Spurs fans are probably just looking at his stats, and I seem to remember him having very good stats this season for interceptions, passes etc. despite not seeming to be at his best for most of the season

The other thing for him (and was also true for Morgan) is they're only worth buying if they intend to play them.

He will never be an 'impact' player off the bench, and if left out he won't adapt to their style and so will look out of place the few times he does play (again, Morgan....)

And right now I can't see him being a regular member of their team
