This thread is getting too gloomy, so here's some good news about football in Southampton. Both our women's teams have still got a 100% record in the Women's Premier League, not a single match drawn or lost. And only one match lost in the cup between them.
Southampton Women had their first match postponed, but went on to beat Dehham United 4-2 in the cup followed by thrashing Basingstoke 5-0 in their first ever WPL league game having only been promoted last season.
Southampton Girls & Ladies are competitive WPL veterans but have also started excellently winning their three league games without conceding a single goal (2-0, 4-0 & 4-0) but unfortunately lost their cup tie against Lewes 3-1 after extra time.
The league table makes for excellent viewing, entirely unlike the Men's Premier league one (admittedly, the WPL division 1 where they play is actually step 4, same as EPL division 2; but still)!
