We're sure to get some Palestinian flag shaggers turning up for a "peace" march. The media will be all over it before he even arrives at St Mary's and I wouldn't be surprised if SR cave in and the loan doesn't happen.
Maybe West Midlands police will give our boys some advice on how to stop Israeli's coming to the UK by pretending that he's a hooligan.

i think the popularity of sport and art can be used as leverage agaunst unsavory political regimes whether we are talking about Israel, Russia , Sudan or Trump's US. I would also employ against China.

I think sport needs to get behind Ukraine,Venezuela and Palestine but not Hamas. Sport should unite

IOAG

Let's not forget the UN has corroborated that 70, 000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel. I think 50 % of these have been women and children. This is more than the capacity of St Mary's.

I trust from your post that you are not bothered by this.

It is on topic though. It concerns the possible problems about loaning an Israeli player as things are in this country. You wouldn't post about a future signing in the politics thread, and as this thread is only about Daniel Peretz, here seems the most appropriate place.
In any case the content is no different to what Laces and Libby have posted.

Sorry, my bad. Was a poor attempt a joke and didn't mean to spark a discussion on it.

Half expecting him to come in as a McCarthy No2 replacement, that's how little faith I have in SR <laugh>

In all seriousness though I doubt he'd want to come if he didn't have assurances about game time.

Nor would Bayern bother cancelling his current loan because he’s not getting game time. Presumably he comes straight into the team.

It's a win-win really.

To which predictable stuff I would say - there are many reasons we shouldn't have signed Downs, but because of Trump isn't one of them. This is no different. Peretz has nothing to do with what the Israeli government is doing. Not signing someone because of where they come from is getting very close to an area which I really don't think we want to be going near. I'd ask Ian (or anyone objecting) if he had the same response were we signing a Palestinian player, and if not, why?

What about someone from Sudan? Or Congo? We'd be fine with that, so....
Absolutely agree

If they are good enough and there are no red flags on the players themselves then we should without guilt be able to buy/loan a player from anywhere in the world.

Well, apart from Portsmouth
