For me, if this happens, it's bigger than Leo staying. Peretz was a huge reason for the unbeaten run imo.

Agreed. Over a season has to be worth at least 12 points compared to Bazunu.

I think psychologically it'll have a big impact too. Most people probably think he's better than this league and wasn't expecting him to sign if we didn't go up, so if he commits so early it'll give the entire club a huge boost.

Yep. And in addition to all that, I also think he's a better 'keeper than Ramsdale so £7/8m seems like a steal.

Funnily enough I saw part of the Vardy doc yesterday and it was showing how tough the family found it moving to Italy. Something that's often overlooked is the impact that transfers have on partners, kids schools/friends etc. Don't know if Peretz has children, but staying here might be the best for his family, and the same hopefully applies to others e.g. THB.

We also have some promising youngsters, Dylan Moody, Adli Mohamed, Josh McNamara, Josh Jeffries, in the under 21s

Oh this would be huge news

I’d feel much more confident the rest of the squad might be inclined to stay if Peretz is wanting to return - and so early in the window too

He could easily have waited two months to see how things lie

Plus the likes of THB, Charles, Jander etc might be a bit more inclined to leave if they know it’s going to be a season of Bazunu blunders (#agenda) but knowing it’s Peretz they may be more likely to stay on board

Doubt it makes much of a difference to them, will be completely about which teams are trying to sign them. Any PL interest and we could have peak Neuer in goal and they’d want to leave

Might make them slightly more inclined to stay if one of the relegated PL teams come in for them, but they’d likely want to be off then as well

Let's run away with the league along with a big **** off to the establishment, some of the clubs and their self righteous fanbases. It could be even more fun than last year. Bond between fans and players is not the problem so that should be fairly electric too from the start. Siege mentality could persist and give us a big old advantage and the whole thing will backfire in the face of those who would love to see us fail.

While I’m delighted we’re trying to sign him, and it’s great that he’d be happy to come back here, I can’t help but feel this news has come out to alert other clubs who might have been weighing up their options to get involved or you might miss out. As much as he might be happy to come here, if one of the newly promoted clubs come in for him then I’m sure he’d go there instead. Might be being pessimistic, but just can’t believe he wouldn’t have better offers and why rush into signing for a championship club.

If anyone but Alfie House had reported it you may be right, but Alfie was the first to break the news so I think he genuinely is keen to come back here.

Totally understand the scepticism and I’m not counting my chickens but don’t know why Alfie House would’ve been first to break it if that was case in honesty. That is a good sign so gotta hope it’s gonna get over the line!!
