Be interesting to see where Poyet ends up. Probably end up looking back one day and realising that he’s turned down probably the biggest club he could have hoped to get. I can’t see a Premiership club taking a chance on him and Championship clubs are hardly fighting over him.

Our current position should be ideal for any ambitious young manager, giving them the opportunity to stamp their style of play on the club at this level and take it forward into the Championship. Everything at the club is geared for Premiership football and when the takeover is complete there should be nothing to hold them back if they’re good enough.

Very good post.

Having watched the Speakman interview it is clear we are all of a sudden a very different football club. Professional, forward thinking, vision and clarity or purpose. It may not happen overnight but I would bet we are a much better club in the years to come. I am looking forward to the journey.
Exactly mate
I am staggered at the short sightedness of some of our fans today
With a bit of luck today might just be the start of a whole new era for the club

You're right it doesn't. But could you see Parky ever trying to actually beat Man U? He barely tried to beat Doncaster or MK Dons!

And Johnson then almost caused Man City an upset not long after as well.

I'm going to give him a chance. Attacking football with hopefully the right structure behind him. Let's see what happens.

Parky beat Chelsea and got to a cup final didn't he ?

Baby??

So who would you have appointed then, Sol Campbell?
We're in League 1 ffs, we havent exactly got a flock of top managers wanting to come and put their reputations at stake by coming to us have we!
Pearson hasnt even come out and said he wanted the job. Who else was there that would have put a smile on your miserable, sad negative face?

I’ve already said, go searching with your happy smiler all’s good with a failed manager face

We are in League 1, we aren’t going to get a high calibre manager.
From what I’ve read (admittedly limited) Johnson might be the best of a bad bunch of the standard we can attract.
What I do know is that he, will like all new managers, have my support.

I just glanced at RTG read the last couple of pages, about him, and I realise, for the sake of my mental health, why I stopped posting so much. The negativity and desperation to see the worst is awful, not just on there but on lots of social media outlets.

The world has gone to hell in a handcart generally without getting so negative without giving a bloke a chance.

The bloke is condemned before he’s put his tracksuit with LJ ironed on to it by some.
Perfect summarisation imo. Its all very judgemental and emotional on these forums. Nice to know still some cool fans out there.

I think it may have more to do with the fact that people are concerned that Donald and Methven are still shareholders and the lack of trust in them more than anything else.
