Abit gutted if true last week, the didn’t want to take the money out
They're involvement baffles me a bit, do they actually want the club or not, they can afford it and even an elevated price of 40 million still leaves plenty of room to increase the clubs value and efficiency.

I must have heard the same as you in terms of them still being very keen as of last week. But to be fair we've all said for ages that the club was regressing and we really needed them to **** or get off the pot. One leak from them about wanting to buy the club and the fans would have massively ramped up the pressure on Donald. Instead they've sat and sat. Not sure if they just hoped Donald would run out of money and they'd pick us up for a song, but it was always likely that someone else would want to buy the club given the potential.

If they've waited too long then they've only got themselves to blame and its ****ing annoying. It sounds like they had massive plans for the club, seems daft to have let it get away because they thought they could get it by default when that was never really likely

I'm not convinced how much they did want the club. If I'm financially comfortable and there's something expensive I want to buy, yes I'll wait for a sale but I won't wait until the only one left is the dirt cheap damaged display model.

Maybe they didn’t want to work with Laurel and Hardy

What is it with the constant whinging from some fans, if they appt johnson then get behind him. We are a league 1 club we aren't going to get the a big name manager. Most seemed happy with piyet there is nothing to say he will do any better than other names mentioned
Whinging??? o_O

I want what's best for the club that I assume we all love. I can see from the outset that LJ is not the answer to our current position.

He'll be sacked in 12 months, just as we secure another season in this league for the 21/22 season.

I felt the same about Grayson and Parkinson. I could read the very small writing on the wall, was called all sorts for not giving them a chance, yet I was proved right.

I want to be positive and get behind the new owners, but they are (potentially) making it very difficult for me.

It's hard enough ATM to put the apathy to one side and get your mojo back for the club.

Real blow if FPP have walked away for me. Would of been huge having them still involved on any level
I don't get this FPP love in personally like. They have borrowed us some cash in the hope it gets paid back (probably with significant interest) or we default on the loan and they take ownership.

If they were that bothered about owning the club they could have scooped us up no problem at all for a pittance in comparison to what they are worth.

All of this 'long term plan' they had is nowt but hearsay and rumours.

Nail on head.

If they wanted us that badly they could have bought the club no problem at all. We are worth nowt in comparison to what they are, it's like me going to Sainsburys and haggling a woman with a reduced bar ticket reader over an out of date egg and cress sarnie.

Now smug has had a message saying sorted. Now I don’t want to put words in his mouth but that could mean sorted in the positive and they are stating on with the loan or converting some U.K. shares.
If they have walked away then they were not the people we needed at this moment and it was just a vehicle to find other investors.

I’ll take the “hipster brother PE teachers” as well but would rather people stopped referring to them like they’re vastly unqualified to manage a top league one side. We need to back them instead of being upset they’re not a tad more famous.

not aimed at you this - just getting annoyed at people writing off less famous names because they had Poyet or Big Sam on their Christmas list and are now spitting their dummy out that Father Christmas hasn’t brought them what they wanted.
I don’t think people are acting like spoiled kids at Xmas, it’s just all we can see at the minute are league 1 managers linked with us. Yes we are in league 1 with no doubt a league 1 team but we’re certainly not a league 1 club.

Teams like us, Hull, Portsmouth have had decent spells in the premier league and our clubs are huge in comparison to other league 1 clubs, so whilst Cowley may look a superstar getting Lincoln to where they are now we’ll that’s fair enough because it was beyond their wildest dreams but we probably feel we can do better and attract a ‘bigger’ name with more experience of higher leagues because this for us is temporary.

anyway, there’s been no concrete evidence that it will be a league 1 manager just lists from bookmakers which is all driven by people betting on those candidates. Let’s hope for a complete shock and the new owners show they mean business. Their appointment of the next gaffer will tell us where they see this club in the grand scheme of things.

Completely agree, seems to me they were just interested in investing to make profit, not the football side of things.

If it’s true that they want complete control then it’s not gonna happen, I was a bit mad when I heard they name mentioned as I don’t think they would suit but everyone’s allowed opinions. Trouble is we’ve not heard any name that we as Sunderland fans would be 100% behind giving it to then I think it’s gonna be either cowleys or Johnson, unless they’ve got an unnamed foreigner hiding in the aol

Soz like, but if the new owners first attempt to impress us, is by appointing Lee F*cking Johnson, they can just get F&^*ed with the other two clowns.

Lee Johnson man, just let that sink in. More of a nomark than PP, in terms of his CV.

I was just coming round to the Cowley's bros. and thinking "Be positive, just give them a chance", even though I wasn't keen but this potential appointment. :emoticon-0173-middl

Have you heard the absolute ****e patter that comes out of Johnsons mush? He just opens his gob and bullshit falls out of it.

I've never given the ITK's on any board any stick and never would, coz I know they post their info in good faith and I always appreciate it :emoticon-0148-yes:, but FFS, if LJ is appointed surely it alerts you all that Tweedle Dumbf*ck and Tweedle D1ckhead are still having a serious input into the clubs affairs.

It's like a ****ing rollercoaster this, I'm up one minute feeling all positive and then just thinking FFS the next.

:headbang:
What's wrong with him? Got a pretty unfashionable championship team to fringes of play offs every year. Played good attacking football.

Go and ask the majority of Bristol City fans what they think.

He's had no success at all, any dressing up of his career to date is just bullshit. He talks utter nonsense.

As is presuming they did not have a "long term plan"

I don't really get how we can appoint a manager without the club actually confirming there's been a change of ownership. Otherwise it just looks like Donalds man regardless of what has gone on behind the scenes and it doesn't get any new manager off to a clean slate and break away from the current ****e to the national media / outsiders looking in.

But does that really matter what the outside world thinks? They probably couldn't give a toss anyway. As long as there's a change behind the scenes and from the leaks coming out, there is. There's actual planning and foundations being put into place - who would've thought that could happen???? We as fans know that its not Donald behind all this because if it was, all this would've happened when he took over. No this is someone new doing all this. Who cares if it hasn't appeared on the little yellow ticker on Sky as long as there's snippets coming out and things being put into place, that can only be good for the club going forward.

When did smug get the message
