As an aside to a lot of the other stuff mentioned, this should do wonders for player recruitment as well.

Everything being equal - you've got two clubs of the same stature after you on the same money. One is a recruitment team with Jim Rodwell asking you if you want to come and play for Phil Parkinson and the other is Stefan Schwarz asking if you want to play for Gus Poyet.

Which one you picking?

It's a really good point. We've struggled to get players up here in the past and anything that gives us some help in that area has to be taken. It's one of the reasons I thought the new manager had to have a high profile in the footy world and Gus deffo has that. Schwarz an all is just icing on cake.

This is frikin mental. My wife just shouted up that her friend has had a baby boy called Gus.

100% genuine. Mental. Short for Angus (was her dad's name).

We are in the south east so they're not sunderland fans so its just an outrageous coincidence.
Is his middle name Stephen

Sky Sports presenter Tom White said that the Swedish international was one of the names he had heard who was in line for the role. Schwarz would fit the bill as a former player and coincide with reports from France suggesting that the shortlist involved someone from Scandinavia.

White said: "This obvious choice would be Stefan Schwarz. I've no idea there's any truth but it would make sense as they've said in interviews it's someone English and Scandinavian."

"Sartori and Louis-Dreyfus have already begun drawing up plans to reshuffle the backroom staff at the club."

No mention of Donald and Methven but I'm sure people will still claim they're pulling all the strings.
