There's obviously a reason for it, I personally think he's been doing it to throw as many rumours out as possible and make it impossible to know whats actually true and what isn't.

I think with the athletic and guardian who are all proper journalists who will check sources from both sides we can be pretty sure what they've said is accurate.

All I heard was that initially he was making things sound further on than they were in order to ramp the pressure up on Donald because he was desperate for a sale to go through. Now people are suggesting he might have some sort of influence in the new group it makes sense, he'd obviously rather be part of a rich consortium than have Donald hanging about. Not sure if he's still saying things but some obviously think he is, not sure why he'd do it now but I'm sure he's got his reasons!

I feel like we are due another leaked update through a media outlet. It "feels" like things have started slowing again, what with the Guardian saying it was expected to be done in a fortnight, and that fortnight ends tomorrow.

My other slight concern is the small but fairly major discrepancy between what @Prehab26 seems to have heard and what @Wheatsheaf has heard. Obviously both are very confident its moving which is fantastic, and I'm so grateful to both for their continued posting and intel. But I'm nervous that the fears of DD not being done or Donald changing the goalposts were being allayed by it already being signed. And now the latest intel we are getting from Wheatsheaf is that is isn't signed yet, and Nixon and other outlets including that French piece have suggested DD not even complete.

I guess my fear is that its still not as advanced as we were being led to believe.

By signed, this may have meant heads of terms or the like and not a final contractual agreement. It's often daft to put timescales on these things as they can over run by days or even weeks. I'd think it'll be all done soonish.

Yeh I don't disagree with you. And sources can be using different descriptions of "signed". Like you sign a contract for a house purchase sometimes weeks before you actually exchange the contracts and it becomes legally binding.

I also agree it's foolish to put dates on it - which is why when dates have been put on it, like the sources informing the Guardian did, and those slip, it can cause alarm. Which is why I'd expect those sources to be leaking more soon.

So there’s no way back for Methven for ya.

What would you say if the new owners took over and said Methven had a new role would say sort of marketing.

As it sounds from Hawayett like he will have a voice at least.
After the way Methven has handled the PR and marketing these past two years (remember, it was Tony Davison bringing the corporates cash in) he' s been an absolute disaster..

No use anyone of us trying to explain about things that certain posters have been told and put on here in good faith , I’ve no reason to disbelieve or challenge what they’re saying is right or wrong what I will say is this. It’ll happen when it happens, no use in second guessing just sit back relax and wait for it to be done. I’ve just bought 6 bottles of jam shed Shiraz for £25 for when it does, anyone else wants to spend the same get yourself down to Asda. £6 a bottle, buy 6 and get 25% off.

That's a particularly stupid comment by him actually
Saying the FPP loan is an "overlooked issue"
Yea you're the first one to notice Alan well spotted
Hope Satori and Dreyfus are reading they probably never noticed it.

the tone of his tweets about it strike me as he's in the sceptical camp as to how advanced it is...

if this was aimed at my post - I'm absolutely not second guessing what they've posted. Just concerned it's not as far as we'd hoped.

I think he just doesn't have any info so is scratching around and making bland comments to make himself look more in the know than he is

To be fair he's been correct most of the way. He broke the story that the FPP deal had fallen through and was the first one to say this was Sartori leading a share redistribution with some of his connections.

I hope you're right of course. But his latest tweet actually suggests he has got a source telling him it's not sorted yet.

I don't want Methven anywhere near our club, in any capacity. It looks like he's going to retain shares by the sounds of it, which is bad enough. I ****ing despise the odious piece of **** and categorically do not want him speaking for or representing Sunderland AFC. With a bit of luck, he'll stay quiet, get his eventual payday, and **** off.
And that goes for the little dumpy ****
