@Prehab26 - does it having already been signed on Friday tally with what you've heard at all? I know the lads were saying your info has seemed the most up-to-date. And I know @Wheatsheaf was thinking weeks until signature rather than days.

This isn't me wanting to catch anybody out, just keen to get a fuller picture.

It's very exciting know that it could drop on twitter etc any second

Well that's done it, what's the point of going on, Covid take me now <doh>

People on RTG arguing that it's not really a takeover, the Chronicle saying it's not the right kind of takeover and the Echo quoting a list of doom mongers who were straight onto the internet casting doubts about every possible aspect of the deal.

"Here’s the best of the social media reaction," They proudly boast.

@parkersafc tweeted: “Have been openly vocal about my doubts about a takeover being close. If this comes off I'll happily hold my hands up and admit I was wrong. Not getting excited yet though. I made that mistake with FPP #safc”

@SpeakSAFC tweeted: “Thoughts? Donald not being the majority shareholder could be huge, but him still owning 15% of his shares and Methven 5% isn’t ideal #SAFC”

@LBarks72 tweeted: “It appears more of an investment than a takeover."

@MorganLowrie tweeted: “An inexperienced 22 year old with $2 billion pound burning a hole in his back pocket in charge of a business with multimillion £ commitments, with next to no income, in an uncertain environment, with Donald & Methven still involved. What could possibly go wrong?”

Over on our SAFC WhatsApp group, one fan simply said: “Heard it all before”

And another added: “I’d question Sartori’s motivation to buy the club, his involvement over the last 2 years has been minimal, what will change now! With Donald still being on board it sounds like it’s more like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic rather than a takeover!”

If Dreyfus was told the Sunderland supporters were fanatical, loyal and enthusiastic I really hope they don't read any of this shyte ...

... I bet there's more optimism and humour in the obituary pages <doh>

I bet these people only put the lottery on because it makes them feel ****e when they lose. I would hate to be like them.

Didn’t the EFL bring a new thing in where you have to do the EFL checks while in navigations, not after anymore?

I'm hoping it's all been happening concurrently.

My understanding is that the checks have to be complete before you sign which was why I was wondering if @Prehab26 and @Wheatsheaf had heard anything new, as I thought they thought it was still a while off until signature.

Either way - smashing news that it's so advanced, and much appreciated.

To be honest mate I think the EFL checks got done weeks ago

Does this ring any bells ...

"SAFC Black Cats News on Facebook the lad who runs it reckons the deal hasn't even been agreed yet. DD hasn't even been done although Dreyfuss and co remain interested."

Been on Facebook and saw the whole rant - it sounded basically word for word what was posted earlier. The guy just won't give up, wonder what he comes out with when they do the press conference tying the whole thing together

I don't feel comfortable in the presence of obsessive maniacs like this ...

... I tend to want to put them on their arse.

It is a tough time at the minute, caused by a mixture of apathy and despondancy, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, and by the sounds of it we'll see the light soon.

It's important that we remember this moment and how we feel, and unlike Man City fans, don't ever forget what a state we were in, so we can appreciate what we eventually end up with, and don't take it for granted.

Good to see you back on here.
Yep we must remember and hold on to that.
Thank you xx
