I've heard from an impeccable source that you're on the money. ITV is bringing back Beadele's About but with Barnes hosting the show and the whole takover talk is an elaborate wind up which culiminates with the cackling Don bursting out of a massive cake just before the Bristol City game.
Heard conflicting rumours about Jeremy Beadle regarding the size of his willy. One the one hand it was tiny, but on the other........
Yes, I know it’s an old one but the opportunity presented itself.

End of the month seems to be what Barnes was hinting at. So 3 or 4 weeks, at least.
Nothing to back it up but personally I don't think anything will be done before the transfer window shuts.

I had a message, weeks ago, from a source I can't mention.

The gist of the message is that no official mention will be made of a takeover, or wealth of the buyers, until the end of the window.

The reasoning is that fees would instantly double which makes sense to me.

I also think FPP wont want their name mentioned in the press again unless they are the new owners, I dont think they want to risk a similar situation to last year

Eminently sensible approach for the new owners to take.
Unlike Bruce the spenk running his mouth about shopping at Harrods.

During the last potential takeover, I suppose I got carried away with it all, even going to the extreme's of telling a Durham plastic Mag at work that in 5 years time he'll be supporting Sunderland, as he grew up during the Keegan years so supported the team that was the press's favourite at the time. I just kept my mouth shut when it looked like the Saudi's were going to buy them and all that would have brought them.

While I have my hope back for Sunderland, I'm trying to keep my feet on the ground this time, no bold claims to anyone.....at least until we know more.

For the moment the momentum is with the posters and pro journalists like Barnes who have solid links to the club in one way or another, if you don't mind I'll believe them and try to ignore the one sailing against the wind, claiming his source is more trust worthy than even professional journalists who have built up contacts over many years...... NQD you are either putting too much faith into your possible unreliable source or your just outright lying and just another WUM.

I know who I have the most solid information, every indicator points that it isn't NQD.

Here's a completely left field suggestion:
  • the takeover has already happened - Donald is gone. It was agreed and approved weeks ago but they decided to not announce to keep transfer fees low, as per Smug's message earlier today
  • the new owners are using Storey to publicly tweet about wanting to takeover to keep up the pretense a bidding war is happening and nothing agreed
  • the new owners are using Barnes to keep up the "takover rumbling on" rumours
  • the new owners are known to Chris Witherspoon and NQD and they're both in on the plan that "nothing is happening". Okay this one is a stretch :D

This would explain how we have been able to spend money on Xhermajli and bid for this Argentinian fella. And would explain a lot of the behaviour by a lot of people.

Just listening to the bit on the takeover on the WMS podcast and listening to Barnes speaking and the way he speaks about it fills me with no doubt that the info Smug/Magnus on here and Prehab on here and elsewhere ties in with the info Barnes has been given. He's done his own background checks on it and he is totally confident that it will happen

It does make sense, but I'm not sure they'll do much more in this window anyway. I'd like to see an attacking midfielder, but apart from that,I think we could be just about done.Having said that,he's named Power as team captain, which indicates he'll play most games. Shifting McGeady will be the biggest priority,I would think.

I know one thing, Donald couldn't plan such an complected ruse, he couldn't tell a simple lie without tripping himself up within the same sentence.

it would be nothing to do with him. the new owners would be controlling all of it.

of course its a load of nonsense :D

This does make sense on one hand but on the other I think the name 'Sunderland' seems to instantly double the price of players in this division, or if youre a 2-bob insurance man it seems to quadruple the price of a centre forward!
