If people want something positive, as far as I'm aware there's no need for the quotation marks around FPP, no reason to think one is acting independently

You're probably right there, I'm just covering myself when there's probably no good reason.

I've just become cautious about being pulled up by people trying to prove me wrong.

Someone on RTG thought they'd found 'a smoking gun' because I described my Italian ex-boss as a millionaire in one post and a billionaire in another <laugh>

Apparently that proved I was a fantasist who never even worked for him ....

<laugh> fair enough! I just think some are using 'FPP' when really they just mean Fuhrman. I've been told there's no reason to think he's on his own and that the other two aren't interested. Apparently FPP, the initial group, are still interested but that it hasn't progressed beyond what it always has been (Donald needing to be realistic before they'll do anything). I found that to be a crumb of comfort!

The thing is for that to be the case Barnes source is either Donald or methven, I believe Tony Davison has also said that fans will be happy soon. It wouldn't make any sense at all to lie about a takeover or investment being on the cards as fans would just see that as Donald ruining the clubs chances of real success, it could be that your source is right but for them to be correct it would mean our owners and genuine Sunderland fans have made this all up for what appears to be no end game at all.

That's the real puzzler. There are games being played but what are the motivations / strategies?

So no further forward to what we were really when nick Barnes tweeted 4 weeks ago then, kick in the nads yet again

You're dead right mate.

I've been told two entirely contradictory things from people I trust, one a journalist I've known for 20 years.

But I'm going against his 'story' because the other fella has given me nothing but things that have come off. He was the one who told me Ashley would sack off Staveley a month before it happened. He gave me details which I posted and it was all spot on. He's told me FPP are starting to put the pressure on and that's good enough for me.

That would fit with everything we are seeing. FPP in pole position with Storey trying to rock the boat via social media

That's my take mate.

Donald may be telling people he's in control, but he clearly isn't, his lenders are.

I was told weeks ago that FPP are cranking up the pressure and I've been told no different since then.
