If a potential buyer knows that to maximise full potential and get full backing of the fans we need a change of owner and to lose Donald and Methven it sends a message to all involved. That’s the gyst of the statement for me.

That’s what I believe aswell mate, out of the blue announcement, but the fans are starting to bubble again, the club needs a short announcement, like short did with the Germans

Agree with much of that said above. Club needs to say something now and show some leadership.

It was ok to remain quiet previously as it felt then as being within timescales of normal business discussions and they were learning lessons of last time.

But it's dragging on now so something should be said, even if just a solid leak to Barnes or something.

think we are mostly reaching the 'don't really give a feck as long as it ends' stage now...the very reason i tried and failed (obviously) to avoid takeover threads is that we will know feck all until it is done until then we will hear not a jot, we are still speculating as to an actual bid going in as nothing concrete has come from the club (that we have evidence of) to confirm/deny.

i just want a statement, is there or is there not and draw a line under it...we have been hanging on like flapping fish on a line for years now.

Getting to the stage where something radical may be needed to force the issue , perhaps 30,000 letters sent to his home and business giving a massive vote of no confidence will hit the message home , sure RAWA could organise a suitable protest letter and where to post the letters to . Such an amount of letters from loyal fans would I am sure create Sky ,TV and press interest because of the amount of mail the recipient will receive and make him well aware of the depth of feeling that the fans have toward him , hopefully this will add to the pressure . To get rid of him would be worth the cost of two postage stamps or six in my case to get my Grandsons involvement. Any other ideas?

Well I know three lads who have bought their STs. They are all going to cancel soon , and one has had his for nearly thirty years. My lad says the same. There will be a tsunami of others, which would have included myself if I had one now.

    Hope you’re right mate.
Can’t believe that the owners intend ****ing this up again.
If so that will be it for many of us with EFL/PL
Just place on record thanks to you, Prehab and Magnus which I’m sure was correct at the time of posting.
No place for Donald/Methven/Sartori to hide mind.
    They all want horse whipping.

There's a lot of supposition at the moment that it's faltering. The mood's really turned.

Is it due to Rodwell's statement and already fearing the worst with Donald and co? Us filling the information vacuum ourselves?

Just remembered it's transfer deadline on Friday as well.

Seems to be the theory that Rodwell's statement confirms Donald's staying but it seems to me that whoever runs/owns the club will want money and the more the better, that's not specific to Donald.

Definite PR own goal like, at least wait until preliminary talks are done before stating support for such an unpopular scheme.

But if we're getting bought by people who, ultimately, want to get us to the PL (the only place they can really make money with safc), there's no way they'd want us voting for anything that makes it more difficult to achieve. The likes of FPP wouldn't take £2m or whatever if it comes with a PL going from 20 to 18 teams, with a harder championship, a potential play off against a PL side, a first season in the PL with a massive disadvantage as TV money is withheld, hell even the chance they might just vote to do away with promotion and relegation altogether. The only people who would take it are people who can't really afford us, and if that's the kind of person who's interested then that's a problem in itself, we've already got a skint chancer

It is unbelievable that Charlie Methven has made a living from being a PR consultant. It seems like every time he's opened his gob, his statements have been a disaster.

Aye but it wasn't FPP (or whoever) that said it, it was Rodwell, maybe he's just got the happy knack of putting his foot in it Methven style.

Aye, but it certainly suggests nothing is close. If I had plenty money, was about to buy the club, and it was at the late stage some have suggested, I'd be telling them in no uncertain terms that voting for this would make it harder to get to the PL and would thus make the club worth a lot less. If anything was close, you'd think Rodwell would be getting told to come out against it. The fact he was bang up for it suggests that we need the money, and presumably still will for a while. Donald seems to be going nowhere. Or maybe Rodwell is just a ****ing idiot. Trust me, I'm certainly not discounting that possibility!

Depends how close it is, if it'd virtually changed hands already then yeah most likely they'd be in control of anything like that, anything further away and Rodwell would probably have plenty of time to shoot off a few daft comments before he was advised not to.

Maybe it was an ill advised ploy to get money in and strengthen the club's hand in the ongoing discussions. I don't know why the bloke had to say anything, we've been waiting ages for some news and this is the bollocks we get treated to.
