No, wasnt an ex player. And like a said a wouldnt have really expected him to tell me anything anyway, it was more the comment about the fans that got me thinking they really dont understand safc fans. Im desperate for change as after 41 years im not putting another penny in while donalds there.
What is this pressure on Donald? Could he just load the debt into Sunderland and let it go to administration while he walked away without any losses? Or would it really hurt him financially?
Not sure he can get more debt onto the club. The FFP loan is against the stadium and training ground iirc so no chance they're going to be used as collateral. I don't think administration is an option as Don loses all his money at that point and he's not that stubborn or stupid. And I think FFP would be able to get control due to the loan before that happened an all. If we're going to be losing money this season, and that seems likely, he has to fund it imo as I can't see where else any cash is coming from.
FPP have millions invested in the club so certainly won't be turning a blind eye to what Donald's doing. It's in their interests that the club progresses or, failing that, they either get their money back, which I can't see, or take control. Donald only has two reasonable choices. If the club continues to lose money, and he cracks, he has to find another buyer or pay the money back himself. I doubt either will happen which means FPP gain control by default.
Administration is also a failure that i'm not sure his ego could take. He seems the type that is desperate to be liked and desperate to be seen as successful. Could be wrang like
If nothing happens anytime soon and we lose 3 of the first 6 games which lets be honest, there’s every chance of happening given the opposition, I really do hope Donald and his cronies see exactly how non-blasé Sunderland fans are about the situation.
This for me is what is happening now with FPP. They hold the cards and I'd dare bet that they have had it written into this "loan facility" a few caveats on if /when Donald does default.
Nah, think that's bang on. He had the idea of rescuing the club from it's lowest ebb, getting promoted, make a good wedge and ride off inot the sunset with the love of Wearside trailing in his wake. And it's gone completely tit's up and no love is forthcoming for him and he's still struggling to let go. And if that leads to him taking a massive gamble on holding on for another season he's got more ego than I thought he had. And more money. Sooner or later he'll be gone and just become a bad footnote in our history imo.
Thing is IF an NDA has been signed what theyve told you would have to be their default answer, otherwise they could be in for some ****. Could just be grasping at straws mind - But when i was involved in company purchases in previous jobs i was always told to say exactly what you've been told above - even though i knew more.
Sunderland AFC are pleased to confirm the signing of Will Harris to link up with Elliott Dickman’s Under-23 squad. https://www.safc.com/news/academy-news/2020/august/will-harris-joins-u23s The 19-year-old striker has put pen to paper on a one-year deal on Wearside after leaving Premier League outfit Burnley last month. South Shields born Harris joins the Lads after three years with the Clarets, which included loan spells with Northern Premier League sides Colne FC and Warrington Town. He becomes the Under-23s’ fifth signing of the summer after Bobby Beaumont, Sam Wilding, Vinnie Steels and Kenton Richardson. Following his arrival on Wearside, Harris said: “Being a local lad, it’s a dream come true to sign a contract with Sunderland. I’m delighted to be here, and I can’t wait to get started.” Under-23 head coach Elliott Dickman added: “We’re really pleased to get this deal done. We had Will on trial before lockdown and we liked what we saw. He has attributes that should really benefit us this season and we’re looking forward to working with him.” We seem to have signed a few players for the future (U23s initially) as if we actually had a plan, which makes me rather curious bearing in mind our current situation please log in to view this image Does this suggest that Donald Duck plans to cling on to his rather tenuous thread for a while longer, or has something been sorted and we're under instruction from an imminently new owner ?
Donald still has to run the club till it sold and new owners come in though cant just stop running everything with club we are all hoping he gone soon as possible and too point out still no chairman appointed even though they said they would be at next board meeting
I think that's a really ****ty response (his, not yours!). He's pretty much debating a technicality, when really I'd want him to be confirming whether he still thinks that's likely or whether he's actually heard nowt more since someone gave him a heads up weeks ago and is giving people hope that, as far as I'm aware, is unfounded in terms of those timescales
He has said in a different tweet that he still thinks its going to happen, and that it has to for the good of all
