Nick Barnes has a responsibility to get an update. If this has all been lip service to buy time then he's been played and has been made to look like a chump.
He has a few days yet, no? He said "by end August or by the start of the season", and at that point nobody knew when the league cup was starting.
Yes he has a bit of time but if we get into the start of the season and nothing has happened an update for supporters is needed.
Buy what time would be the question of like to know, what does making up this rumour do to help Donald. He'd be better off not making any rumour up and just keeping his head down.
It doesn't help Donald at all. Which begs the question of whether he is the source, everyone is assuming its Donald because he gave Barnes the interview, it might not be
Well if we sign a player in the next few days then that'll mean bob has been accurate with what he's told me about everything up to this point this season, he's also said that there is a potential investor involved in buying shares so I've got to assume he will be correct about that as well. He has however said that there's nothing imminent which was a few weeks ago now. It's possible the takeover is on but not as advanced as others have been told which is leading some to assume it's some conspiracy.
I hope he sells up sooner rather then later but have a feeling he may try and see where we are about the halfway point again. He will be banking on other teams not being able to massively improve and the likes of Charlton Wigan been in the trouble.
Bob definitely gets info, wish he wasn't quite as cryptic as he is but aye, I'd say he's right about all of that (well, I know nowt about the player tbf). The person potentially looking at us is very early stage though as far as I know and not likely to progress, but time will tell. There's a lot of misinformation coming out though, I mentioned it a few days ago and Chris Weatherspoon has just mentioned the same thing, think that's why people think things are further along than they are
I just have to say I'm not the biggest fan of Nick Barnes but as soon as I saw his original message I asked someone 'at the top table' who instantly confirmed the veracity of what he'd said. FPP have made an offer, Gray says he wants the club and Storey has said the same. Whatever is going on something is happening and Donald would be gone tomorrow at the right price ... ... I still believe he'll crack and sell to FPP.
I think Bob is genuinely a lovely bloke who has become a bit surprised by forums and social media generally, he can't tell people exactly what he knows but even so I think he just says things as anyone would in the pub but obviously one it's on the internet it stays there and gets used against you with people with varying agendas. Before he sent me a random PM I thought he was just taking the piss.
That would be a very dangerous game imho the fans already hate him and salmon pants are not welcome in the boozers anymore, it would become toxic if it goes tits up, we do have our fair share of moronic supporters who have dished out death threats and stuff before towards him, he needs to sell up and **** off
It’s looking clearer and clearer that Donald has used Barnes as a diversion tactic for the heat that was building. He is a chancer and gambler and is hoping for one final miracle that he might fluke promotion. To me the salary cap was the thing that has made him have this gamble. He can use the salary cap excuse for non investment and actually not lose a lot of money due to the low number that cap is at. I must admit to being really disappointed by Roker report and wms during all this. They have remained silent apart from a couple of brief mentions in podcasts. If they all think it was smoke and mirrors by Donald they really should have been ramping up the pressure massively. It looks like a small time Mike Ashley tactic has been played and worked a treat.
I think your info was spot on, they intended to sell before the season starts but they may be struggling to sort out share issues and all kinds of other stuff. It could just have turned out a bit more complicated in terms of control as 74% wouldn't allow someone total control.
I don't think Fuhrman is looking to buy us on his own. I'd still say FPP are the most likely but it's not close because they've got their valuation and Donald has his (same as its always been). Others get in touch to look around etc and I believe that's happened recently, but get the impression that's Donald hoping someone will randomly agree with his valuation and have proof of funds. I don't think they will. Which leaves us back where we started with FPP sitting back happy that their valuation is realistic and watching Donald lose money whilst constantly thinking he can get a better deal.
Yeah... I think the similarities end at owning a football club. Don't think Donald dabbles in what Oyston liked to do.
Maybe to take some of the attention of himself with the hope that we start well and things tick along with support concentrating more on the results rather than ownership issues. Maybe he has descended so far in his dislike of the support that he is on a bit of a wind up as well although Snug has confirmed something has been going on. I can honestly see this all being strung out and nothing changing with the hope for SD that PP manages to get us promoted, which I think is highly possible tbh.
