I was part of the security detail, at a football exhibition in Cannes, for the England campaign to get the World Cup.

Two of the main men were Geoff Hurst and Bobby Charlton.

As a NE lad I was bursting to be looking after our Bobby for 5 days.

Geoff Hurst was an absolute gent and, what's more, a bloody good sport for the security lads daft pranks.

Charlton was a sour faced misery without a good word for the NE.

I'd never tell my Northumberland relatives, who adore him, but FFS I'd rather spend time with Joey Barton.
I’ve met Bobby at a couple of events. Exactly the same experience. His daughter was also my physio at one time (not the weather reporter one)

Pretty negative from phillips I thought. Everything he said had a "but" at the end....
"Great for the supporters, but...."
"Long term plans, but...."

Sounded bitter to me, but....

A truly wonderful day for Sunderland, Wembley and a takeover from the Gods ...

... and didn't have a single positive comment.

'Transfer window closed ... nothing he can do ... no experience .... needs advice from Donald .... etc... '

Just f**k off mate, you're just another Marco.
