I have a long history of following stewards and police who are throwing one of our lads out and talking them out of it.

I've got hold of lads refused entry for being drunk, slapped them around a bit, taken them for a walk and vouched I'd look after them to the stewards.

All of them, like most of you lot, total strangers ...

... but, to me, you're all family and you look after family.

So I've done my best to keep people optimistic and attack those who attack us.

That may sound a little Old Testament but f**k it <laugh>
I have to say this actually happened to me outside Notts County one year. So pissed they wouldn’t let me in. This bloke took hold of me and started slapping me about telling me he was sobering me up. I thought he was after my wallet.
It might have been you ha ha.
If it was you’ll be wishing you slapped me a bit harder ! Ha Ha.
Purrem Up Purrem Up.

All 5 cans went without me noticing, there has to be wine here somewhere ... we're surrounded by vineyards ffs.

I'll be back ....

... Edit: Found a bottle of Chardonnay that should get me through, if not I'll start licking the paste off the back of the wallpaper.
Do like a nice Chardonnay myself

Reactions: Smug in Boots
As I was saying the other day the stadium and academy being run with a lack of ongoing maintainace and repairs sum up our lack of professionalism and would have had a knock on effect to players and staff that this is a club where you don't have to give your all or have pride in the job you do.

Hopefully this is the start of us being a professional outfit in all areas of the club.

I bet people are sick of me banging on about FPP but it was fabulous being involved while it lasted.

They had reports done on absolutely everything at the club.

I saw reports about the club coach/travel arrangements through to the suppliers for the club ties.

It was like a fantastic dream world where everything didn't look half arsed and amateur.

Sadly they used SJP as an example of how corporate clients should be treat ....

... they thought the SOL looked shabby behind the scenes.

As things are slowing down and people chilling I'll post a quick story that might illuminate what this family means to SAFC.

When I worked for the Russian Oligarch me and Mrs Smug were invited to the chateau of a champagne producing family.

We were collected by helicopter, taken to the chateau for the weekend, wined & dined, entertained and given a wing of the house, a car and maid service.

On the Saturday night we were flown to Paris, sat in the VIP area of the Moulin Rouge and given an after-hours tour of the Eiffel Tower.

Sunday was a tour by the head of the family of the vineyards, museum, the press, the cellars and the tasting room.

All this because I was in charge of provisioning the Russian's house on the Cap d'Antibes where they'd have massive parties for 100's of people.

Our 'wine tasting weekend' must have cost them around £20,000 and they smiled all the way through. Mrs Smug is from a pit town and I'm the same so had to bluff our way through the whole thing. But the desire to supply our boss was obviously worth it, not only from immediate gain, but from the kudos of association. That's what will happen to our club and people across Europe will be plotting how they can involve themselves with SAFC and, by association, with the Louis-Dreyfus family.

This is massive <party>

Music mate, absolute nectar.
Suggest that you re-read what you’ve posted there the next time that you doubt yourself because of the start in life you had.
After that start you’ve had you have made a great life for yourself, Mrs S and your family.
Salut

Seemed disappointed with it all, not the reaction we would expect from a former SAFC hero.

It was absolutely dreadful from start to finish.

When I worked in the music industry and security I'd always try to persuade people never to meet their heroes.

SKP proved how wise I was being tonight ....

... total pessimism then begs for a job ffs.

Reluctantly, I agree. He was very downbeat when he could have been extremely positive. Disappointed in him tbh.
