If I had to, I'd probably guess that yesterday brought a good breakthrough in talks (hence people who hear bits and pieces being positive) and now they're back to just discussing the rest of the deal, which could last any length of time and won't necessarily have any major breaking news
Hopefully

All the doubts on RTG are because Nick Barnes said he was quoting rumours to fill air time with regards to FPP and Sartori's father in law. He did not say that about his own original quote regarding a party having exclusivity and that a deal would be done by the end of August. He is talking about 2 seperate things which people have conflated that he was talking about rumours regarding his original statement about exclusivity.

The ‘exclusivity period’ is a line fed to Barnes by SD. He’s in talks with now one and Barnes now knows that. SD has even changed phone numbers so Barnes can’t contact him (along with anyone else). When the end of Aug/early sept comes and he’s pushed on the period of exclusivity SD (if he responds) will simply say it was press speculation and he neither confirmed or denied it... sneaky of SD to use Barnes like that

I want what's best for SAFC and it's supporters.

Exactly the same as me, but I’m not going to get carried away with a take over which is still some way off (in my opinion, and I understand others have a different view and I hope I’m wrong as this is worrying

Has it got anything to do with Furhman?

Yes it does.

I'm really sorry I can't post more details but my discretion is the only reason people tell me things.

I've just been given info, about a couple of friendlies, but was courteous enough to reply and ask if I could pass the info along.

No response so far <laugh>

Doing that doesn't help Donald at all though. If he's staying, he absolutely needs us to get promoted this season. The wage cap will likely be fully implemented then, and from this season we'll start losing money due to having no parachute payments. So "taking the heat off him" whilst doing no transfer business would be shooting himself in the foot. This isn't like Ashley where he wants an excuse not to spend a fortune on players because he's happy just coming 15th where the fans want to challenge in the top half. Donald will need players in and will need to have a real go at it this season, he needs the same as we do. That's before we consider that, if fans think another good sounding takeover has broken down, he'll get even more grief when the season starts and people are actually able to attend. Pretending something is happening when it isn't would be utterly self defeating for him.
