The Leicester Mercry yesterday was banging on about how Koren and Pearson had a special relationship and that that was going to result in them being reunited.

Unless old age is catching up with me, didn't Pearson play RoKo out of his favoured position wide left for 18 months? Also didn't RoKo get dropped for mouthing off about it as well?

Not really a special relationship, that!

If Koren goes then we'll have to rely on the widemen for creativity.

As long as Stewart recaptures his best form and we have Aluko on the other wing we should be in good stead.

Hopefully King will come back to us to bring some competition.

A few Albion fans think McLean might be heading their way.

Amos/Jakupovic

Rosenior Chester Cooper Dudgeon

Stewart Evans Faye Aluko

Proschwitz Fryatt

doesn't look too bad if Koren goes.....

If Koren doesn't go then Faye replacing Cooper until Hobbs is back looks good too.

Faye will play alongside Chester until Hobbs is fit again.

And if Robbie goes I can see Cairny or Sone filling the creative role, can't have two defensive boys in the middle, sorry Corry has potential but isn't there yet

Agree with that part. We need to have Koren or Cairney playing in the middle alongside someone more defensive, not two defensive midfielders.

I already made that point (number 2):

Let's be clear, there is no way this has slipped out by accident and I can think of only 2 reasons why we would choose to draw attention to the clause:
1) For whatever reason we want to sell whilst claiming 'there was nothing the club could do about it' and painting Koren and his agent as the villains of the piece. It's the perfect way to make an unpopular sale.
2) We expect him to sign a new contract with no such clause or expect him to simply refuse to leave even if the clause is met, therefore showcasing to everyone how much faith there is in the 'brave new Hull City' and a wave of optimism takes us towards the title.

3) We don't want to sell him but a club has met the clause, we expect him to leave and would prefer he didn't go to that club. All about drawing attention to sell him, but nothing to do with making out Koren is the villain of the piece.

As for the clause, maybe the reason we haven't had a bid earlier is because there's a time restriction on when the bid can be received. It would make sense if we were going to allow the clause for us to have protected ourselves against January bids, or bids coming too close to the season. If he wants to go he should know at the end of the season, so saying a bid has to be received during the transfer window, and at least 3 weeks before the start of the season (with another week to conclude talks) seem fair.

I don't think there will be a time restriction on when his clause can be triggered

Any particular reason? Demba Ba's £7M release clause at Newcastle only applies until July 31st. Having a deadline is a good way to ensure the player can get a move if they want one, whilst at the same time stopping it from leaving the club high and dry with no time to find a replacement. I don't see why it wouldn't be standard practice.

He's only been linked with Forest and Bristol C. I think he's got no chance of staying in the Prem.
