I can't be arsed to read all that but say my weekly wage gets upped from £350 p/w to £450 p/w that's going to make a huge difference. However with footballers were talking going from 20k to 25k when they've already got a mansion with 50 acres a house maid and butler, 10 ferraris, a private jet, a helicopter, a yaught, and £10 million stored in the bank, it's not going to make a life changing difference to them it's nothing but greed. Give the ****s a sensible wage, they get paid too much for kickin a ball around, give their wages to the army instead.

Seriously what are they going to do with that extra cash other than buy more ferraris or their own private desert island?

I can't believe this is the nearest anybody has come to what's most likely if there's a conspiracy going on.

Surely NP knows what the release clause is. Now put yourself in the club's position. One of your promotion rivals has just put in a knock down bid for one of your best players because they know it meets the release clause and you think he's going to accept the terms. Do you:

A) Shrug your shoulders and quietly sulk in the corner whilst he goes and strengthens one of your promotion rivals.

or

B) Start making as much noise as you can about the clause in the hopes of attracting a PL club or two into the race to sign him, so that at least when he leaves you it might just be to someone who offers no threat to you, instead of the team in your division.

What ever the release clause is Nigel will know it as he signed him. Same if any other players that Nigel signed for you

The final say is still with the player himself. We shall see.

This guy is actually Fourth Official who run an ITK blog on football rumours.

“@koala1986: @FoxToffee what’s your view on the koren to Leicester story, any chance?” there is no story bud

Like I said last week, what I don't get is why Leicesteristan haven't bid for him already given they must have known all along about a buy out clause.

I'm guessing that release clause is to top flight clubs only, I think Nige would have bid if he could get him for 500k. What baffles me is the owners said they rejected bids for Koren if I remember, so either those bids were insulting or his release clause is only for certain criteria ie top flight.

I think you are spot on with that. That is the only thing that would explain what has happened, it everything has been correct.

Another thing, maybe Bruce has publicised Korens release clause to pressure him into signing a new deal or Koren has given firm promise he will not leave and it's to make us look better in the sense these top class players actually WANT to be here when they are pretty much free to move elsewhere for higher wages or higher league. It can only look good to others and the fans if that's the case.

I have everything crossed Roko stays, I don't share some peoples opinions that we might be better off without him. The guy is pure class.

I already made that point (number 2):

Let's be clear, there is no way this has slipped out by accident and I can think of only 2 reasons why we would choose to draw attention to the clause:
1) For whatever reason we want to sell whilst claiming 'there was nothing the club could do about it' and painting Koren and his agent as the villains of the piece. It's the perfect way to make an unpopular sale.
2) We expect him to sign a new contract with no such clause or expect him to simply refuse to leave even if the clause is met, therefore showcasing to everyone how much faith there is in the 'brave new Hull City' and a wave of optimism takes us towards the title.

Given the release clause thing, I'm now wondering if that May bid from Leicesteristan actually happened.

Something's not right here!
